I've noticed that no rom I've tried has been able to use the carrier billing through Verizon. Very randomly, when trying to buy an app, it gives that option; however, when trying to use it, there's an error.

Most times however, there is not the option for carrier billing. I took this from Google's website:


Missing carrier billing option
All of the following must be true for you to see carrier billing as an option:

• You must be using your carrier’s network (3G/4G), not wireless.
• You must purchase from Google Play on your device, not on the web.
• You must be in good standing with your carrier and have not exceeded your carrier’s cap on monthly spending.
• Your device/service plan must be opted in for premium content purchases.
• Your device must be provisioned for use with direct carrier billing.

So it seems as if there's something on the device that sort of provisions it ... or connects it as being a "verizon" phone.

Is anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?

What app are you trying to buy? I haven't tried to buy an app through my plan(I usually just use my credit card or pirate the the app) but are you the main plan holder or is your phone on a family plan by chance? You also may want to check your account because I can't use "My verizon" app since I'm not the main person on the billing plan.

Any app, no matter what doesn't have the option to bill carrier anymore. I tried deleting the data from Google play - and even tried uninstalling the updates to see if that'll work. On a single line plan as well.

I couldn't use My Verizon at first because it was missing the Single Sign On Verizon app, that couldn't be downloaded from the App Store - and that makes me wonder if the Rom has something to do with it. In the App Store, the Verizon Single Sign On app said it wasn't "Compatible" with my phone - as if its not recognizing it as an actual verizon phone. This could be the same verification/provisioning issue with the carrier billing option?

Just a thought.

Oh I had to find the single sign on apk from somewhere on the internet and side load it onto the device in order to get the my verizon to work.

Actually I haven't tried because that feature just went live on 11/1 - been using non-stock roms. I guess thats a great question and would help isolate the issue.

I'm going to switch back to stock rom and test it out.

Running a Bionic not a razr but comfirmed that account billing works on stock rom. Click buy then click the drop down where your card number is the check the "bill Verizon account" or whatever it says.

I found out the Gapps in the ROM are a little out of date, so they will be a complete update and rethemeing on them. Probably Gmail.
