Two quick things:

Would you happen to be looking for more testers? I've been rocking your rom since it first came out, and like being the geek with pre-release access :P

Is there any way you would add add free android and the news/weather widget in? I miss my news and weather lol.

Thanks for the awesome rom!

I will tell you something I was told by my 4th grade teacher many years ago. Patience is a virtue, virtue is a grace, put them together and you have a happy face :).

Hi Byte,

I have Flick 4.0 installed on my wife's Droid RAZR Maxx. I had a tough time convincing her the first time to install a custom ROM and definitely don't want to do a full wipe again to install 5.0.

If the choice is between leaving 4.0 as it is or installing 5.0 without doing a full wipe, what would you recommend? I will totally understand if you answer with something like "Neither, GET SOME FREAKIN BALLS MAN!"

Well he did some pretty big modifying of the rom. What I would suggest is to wait until she falls asleep, then wipe it and install 5.0...But my question is why doesn't she want to? You can retrieve everything the exact way it was with just a few apps. Apps+Data I use Titanium Backup, for text messages I use MyBackup...Takes < 30 minutes!

I usually recommend full wipes between my builds when they really could just use a dirty flash lol But I would definitely recommend a full wipe coming from 2 versions back with some decent change logs.

Haha, I'm looking for helpful, cooperative and active testers. Maybe I'll let you in the pool for the next one.

I feel like News and Weather is easy enough to add to the ROM and I don't use it. So probably won't be included in a build of Flick.

Sounds good! I've done a few soak tests for Moto, and am active in a few open source php programs, so I'm pretty good at finding bugs :P

Best explination I've ever gotten from a dev. I only asked because I like not installing extra crap like weatherbug :P I'll just install adfree android so that I don't have a program looking for add updates all the time.

Thanks for the update!

Okay so first off i live the little tornado in the new ba. Its gonna be freaking awesome. Second ive been working lije crazy finally got a job and have worked 49 hours in the past 4 days. Lmao so i got some time to play with my phone last night only an hour but i fixed my google now problem by fixing permissiong in safestrap. My phone works 100% now on F5 test. Now...battery life (; everyone...my battery life has been noticibly better. My girlfriends phone is on 4 and we work the same shift and take our phones off the chargers at the same time and use our phones at work alllll day for 12 hours listening to music and with our wifi/data off we leave the building with her phone at 48% and my phone at 69 so yes there IS better battery life on F5! The stability of the rom has been iffy for me at times but also im a dirty flasher. Im running the 215 on this and after some wiping and slit cleaning up the rom is completely stable for me now. I do notice better screen off value with hotplugx although its only a few percent but it is there. But all in all i am very satisfied with my razr experience and bytes a great dev. And i hop you guys are as thriilled about the release of Flick 5 TORNADO as i am. Im one of the biggest fans of flick and its by far my favorite rom out there. If you have yet to be a permaflicker you need to try it. Highly recommended to everyone who owns a razr/maxx. Thanks byte and friends

This just made me even more anxious. DANNNG. Hopefully we'll have something soon.

A link posted in an hour or two would be great :) maybe far fetched, but keeping hope alive.

Even on 4.0, my battery for razr maxx easily lasts me all day, with constant twitter usage, browsing, even sometimes watching movies with crackle and youtube. Never have to worry about my device when I forget to charge it.

Lmao i wouldnt keep your hopes up saying its gonna be soon...but its goona be soon. And for news and weather just download the dang apk yourself and install it. Thats what i did. Lmao simple useless programs of such nature dont really need to be "flick standard" in my opinion. Even though i DO use it. I dont care that its not in there. But alas...its not. So you guys pumped or what? Been telling your friends? Its gonna be sick...its like watching a promotion for a new roller coaster lmao

I dont like to consider flick "something new" i consider it something permanent. Kinda that once you go black you dont go back kinda thing? Once you try flick...you ...you umm...yeah you do....

I think you meant:

Once you go flick, you don't change d***!

I just wish MOTO would have released a standard firmware like this... no bloat, clean, and smooth.

I've tried Artic HD and other Roms, they are good as well, but this Flick is flawless, seriously. No force closes, has great options and settings. Works perfectly.
