so safestrap v3 uses the internal sd card? I have like 14 gb on my ext sd. Is there a way for the sd cards to be switched. Or once your first rom slot is created and i boot a jb rom will they be switched and i can use the ext sd?

How do you mean? It's always going to use the internal to hold your ROM Slots. That's not going to change. Your external card will be considered your internal card when you boot into one of the new JB builds though.

Yeah i think i figured it out lol.

Just clear out your /sdcard... It has 8 gb allotted to it and is purposely built to be used for storage. (think about phones without an ext sdcard) So unless you told an app(s) to move or store there you can pretty much format it without worrying about it ruining things. Always double check and ask us if you find something on there that you aren't sure of before you format because I don't feel like adding stupid end user statements to my posts... You know the whole "I'm not responsible..."

The would sdcard folder deal is very confusing. Got to be a better way to do it. Not talking about ss3... but just android in general.

Need some insight. On BS. 3-4 nandroids on bs, including my 232 root. If I restore my 232, delete all nandroids and bs, install ss 304, can I nandroid my 232 (I guess on unsafe side) and proceed to reflash the roms I prefer in the slots? Just trying to figure out the starting point (which i consider my 232 nandroid on bs). Or will restoring my bs 232 nandroid and going from there on ss screw me up? Any help would be appreciated.

PS guys, I LOVE SS3. To be able to test roms while keeping my safe AND my daily... it's very nice - a great way to compare and pick what works for you.

I'm not sure how it's confusing. It's no different than having different drive letter designations for logical drives in Windows, or different folders for different drive mount points in linux. Actually, it's EXACTLY like having a folder mounted in linux, since android is essentially linux on a handheld device

I actually haven't made any nandroids since installing v3.04. I suppose I COULD make a clean 232 nandroid, but the way SSv3 handles switching slots allows for your original /system /data and /cache information to be left completely untouched when you're in one of the four slots. SSv2 used a common data and cache area, so there was the possibility of being a problem when switching between the two sides and backing up or restoring your data. 3.04 basically has little mini filesystems that it mounts like a virtual CD at boot. These are stored in the /safestrap folder on your internal SD, and contain system, data, and cache . It's isolated from your base system entirely.

All, I have a SS3 question. I have it set up so that I have 3 of the extra rom spaces open with 1gb of memory each. I don't really have much of anything else on my phone, but It is significantly lowering my memory left for use. I only have 1 GB left in the internal memory for some reason.

Is there anyway to make those slots go on my external SD? Is there something that I'm missing?

No ur not able to put ROM slots in the ext SD. I couldn't figure out where I was losing so much space. And I found that my LOST.dir had about 5.5 GB stored in there of just random junk. I deleted the directory and now have room for about 6 slots @ 1 GB each.

U can use tibu to apps to SD and transfer all ur apps to the ext SD then make sure u don't have pictures or music or anything on the internal storage then format it and ull be all freed up ready for stacking up some slots! Hope this helps you out! :-)

The unrootable has been rooted. Those who appreciate Dan R's root exploit work should really go throw a few bucks into his paypal account. It's worth it.

Hey guys I think I found a solution to the Rom building madness that's been going on and trying to keep the thread use able (too much data gets overwhelming for people)

I'm going to get rid of the download links and move the thread links up. I will keep download links to pookas cm compiles, hash & dh's targa folder and any other relevant build that needs a home.

Basically vanilla aosp cm9, cm10, AOKP ICS and AOKP JB.

The devs all use those four roms as their base and then add on from there so keeping the vanilla roms up top makes sense...I'll keep the dev links up to date, adding new ones when they come out @ droidrzr and romdroidhacks. Newest will be at the top and if one gets updated I'll put it back up top (with dates)
