I'm back too guys :-) New X via moto maker (VZW) due in Thursday (3-6) if the expected delivery date can be believed. Of course if rootability and write access to sys don't happen in a reasonable amount of time I'll scrape up the money to buy a dev edition and Soraya will get this one :-) Tobacco free for almost 10 months now but I've totally fallen in love with vaping and of course that brings a whole 'nother huge web community and technology to be obsessed with.
I just had to have a break after being on the edge of my seat non stop from the day the first bionic ICS leaks dropped on cheesecake until we all got the wind knocked out of us a little with the X not being announced at I/O last year like we all expected, living through Soraya's ARDS (and most importantly having her live through it) and the resulting coma, rehabilitation.ongoing physical therapy, helping her learn how to walk and write and keyboard etc all over again . I was just emotionally empty and had to recover and get physically healthy (no big deal, just all stress related stuff that I wasn't helping by being either here or on XDA or G+ or at work 22 hrs a day. I had to wipe my biological cache a DAVLIK and get a clean boot so to speak
I'm slowly reintegrating myself into the android community and trying to set some limits that I can live with that will still keep me involved. I'm still at the same marketing consultant gig for financial planners and stockbrokers etc, but I'm also working about 20 hours a week helping a friend develop a brick and mortar vapor shop, lounge. We're doing very well with that and it has the potential to develop into a full time thing, but if you know anything about the vape scene you know that these are precarious times with the government trying to get their fingers in the pie at the same time that big tobacco and big pharma would both like to see vaping banned worldwide because of course vaping is all up in the kool aid of the tobacco industry and the drug industry by providing people a way to get free of tobacco with relative ease and phenomenal success rates that doesn't involve doctors, prescriptions for expensive nicotine replacement, therapies, etc.
I've been in contact with LivinginChaos off and on through the whole thing so I haven't been TOTALLY out of the loop, but pretty much. My original Bionic (which Soraya has had since JB came out) is finally on it's last legs with a bad charger port and/or charge circuit and since she's been making do with a standalone charger and a handful of batteries for a couple of months, so taking that and the fact that 3 of my 4 lines are reasonably close to upgrade motivated me to jump back in. If anybody's got a 3G VZW tab that will function just good enough to keep it parked on one of my lines to keep the upgrade wheels turning for sale cheap, PM me. I could pay a little cash, or maybe trade the Bionic (8GB), that is at least a good parts phone, and may just need a charger port, I just need an extra tab so I can keep that line alive for $10/month instead of $40/month

It's good to be back, getting old sucks but it really does beat the alternative LOL.
Holler at me y'all.
I'd also appreciate advice about X phone cases, accessories, that little physical security token doodad, how to set up one of those microSD readers as an external drive, etc etc etc, every little cool thing regarding the X and the new droids that somebody can give me the quick and dirty on would be really appreciated.
