May be flashing this soon - I have flashed dhackers cm10 and wifi tether did not work - it worked when reverting back to .215. Other than that data has been working and it is really smooth - almost like my N7.
I love it when a plan comes together...

How's the battery life on this one? The dhacker 0804 build is quite awesome but the battery doesn't last long enough and rebooting loses data. can you install cpu sleeper on this one ? I've heard some JB roms have the sleep of death problem.

I found out how to get sure fire 3G every time.
  • Change your Network Mode to LTE / CDMA
  • Go into ROM Toolbox and hit Root Browser (This will install WiFI Tether!)
  • Open Wifi Tether and let it install the binaries and config.
  • You can either leave the tether open or try to close and see what works best for you.

I also tested and restarted my phone to see if it was truely a great method.

After about 2 minutes I got instant 3G again.

Tell me your trials!

I'm sure this means that the binaries installed by that application are what's needed to have (at least) 3G use.

I was comparing cm9 vs cm10 and there is a fairly big difference in binaries. Maybe we could try cm9 camera and data binaries and see if they take.

As long as they are complied against the new kernel they should work no? Unless one is missing a function or two.

It seems this method works and its an awesome find :) but I have been working on another method that just involves toggling from gsm to gsm/cdma im going to work on it a bit and see if i can get data at boot.

I don't understand, I already had wifi tether installed and it didn't "Install any binaries" or anything when I opened it.

You should start tethering, it installs then on the first attempt.
