A: 16GB. 8GB for system use and 8GB as an internal SD storage area. This area has nothing to do with your actual SD slot. It's partitioned like crazy so don't go all "I only see XYZ amount of memory in app storage" etc etc. Trust me. It's there. The same can be said for system RAM. It's all there.
Q: Is the bootloader unlocked on the RAZR?
A: No. Not at this time
Q: Is there any way to unlock the bootloader via any 3rd party means?
A: No. The same encrypted bootloader system is deployed on the Bionic and is also at this time unbreakable.
Q: When will Motorola unlock their bootloaders?! They said they were going to do it in 2011!
A: Figure that out and you get a cookie. For more information on pressuring Motorola into fulfilling their promise, go and sign the petition.
Q: I've used XYZ phone and have liked to use custom kernels. Can I do the same here?
A: Not until the bootloader is unlocked.
Q: Can I overclock my RAZR?
A: Yes. Through black magic and voodoo and a dark pact with the devil. Use the forum search tool as a number of threads have popped up about this.
Q: When will ICS release for the RAZR?
A: Motorola has said that they're shooting for 1Q 2012. If that's calendar or fiscal remains to be seen. I'd air on the side of later than sooner. We'll see if a custom ICS ROM or Motorola themselves releases first.
Q: What is this Safestrap recovery system I keep hearing about? I'm used to using clockwork.
A: This can most easily be answered by reading DroidRazrAZ's post found . Thank you Hashcode for coming up with the system itself.
Q: I'm bootlooped and think I've softbricked my phone! How do I fix it?
A: Absolutely do NOT file an insurance claim. You're costing everyone else money by doing so in the form of higher insurance rates etc. First go and follow the instructions on how to use fastboot files to restore your unit to factory.
Q: Will the OTA update to .173 break my root (or any other OTA for that matter)?
A: Initially yes. But you can easily re-root after the update. All the same methods still work as none of them were patched. (As of android build 2.3.6 current one click root methods no longer work. Use an app like OTA rootkeeper to retain root post-update)
Q: I'm running XYZ custom ROM and am getting VZW's software update notification. Should I download/run it?
A: No. Chances are you'll bork your system. Wait for your ROM developer to release his/her own update.
Q: I have a question but I'm not sure where to post it. Where do I go?
A: Hit the chat button at the top of the site page. There's usually someone helpful there... Well maybe not DarkestSpawn.
Q: I'm trying to install update to version X but the name of the file is Y (my current version). What gives?
A: Motorola update files are named for what version you're coming FROM not what you're going to.
Hope this helps. I'll update it further as needed.

After searching the forums and many Google queries I am still at a loss about the different version numbers (e.g. .211, .214, .216, etc) - what do these numbers correspond to?
It is the system version of the software on your phone. If you go in system settings and about phone you will see it. .211 is the current OTA update of ICS. .214 was a minor update that leaked out and .215 is a slightly larger leak

Thanks Memnoch! I don't see any note of a system version in those settings, just android version (4.0.4), build number, kernel version and mod version. I'm running full throttle aokp 8/2. Btw, sorry for the double post.
That's because you are running AOKP. .211 is the system version of Verizon/Moto Blur ICS. If you are running that then you are on at least .211. In order to go to .215 you will need to fastboot back to stock .211 then upgrade. It's a minor update but it is a newer Kernel and I think 4G radio.
