question regarding bionic jb root

i sent this in a message to samurai too, but maybe somebody else can answer it so as not to bug him :)

 and NEVER LOST root when installing (not ota updating) the new update.

 

so since i never lost root i never had to go through and use the new method. fast forward to today, fxz'd to a fresh start, and now i want to root of course. everything i'm reading however says only use a 32 bit linux, live disc,

whatever. so here's the question:

if i have a 64 bit windows - CAN i run a 32 bit linux? by way of either live disc or virtualbox? will it run? just getting all my ducks in a row before i attempt this.

thanks in advance for any insight you may have!

 

 

EDIT: well some simple googling revealed that i can do this.  i guess i'll leave this open if anyone wants to chime in or confirm that :)

There is another one step option that will be revealed as soon as the last omap update drops.

thanks for the reply but samurai just sent me a different method :)  i will try and report back (it's the first time i've seen this used on the bionic)!

heard that.  you can delete this thread if needed.  root checker was being a brat, but titanium backup among others worked just fine.  thanks for all help!
