Oh and most noticeable change was DPI settings. Looks to be higher resolution now.

I forgot when it was added and I already had it but this ROM comes with AdAway now (which is awesome) and I noticed viper4android has been updated

OK. I meant flashing the recovery from a zip... Switching from CWM to TWRP... There are zip files in the recovery directory on Graber... Never flashed a recovery as a zip. Can't find any info on it, at least for the XT926...

The direct downloads are zip files too. It should be like 238 mb in size. Yes, that is what you flash in recovery along with your gapps. I let the ROM grabber flash for me.

CWM and TWRP essentially do the same thing just different interfaces and a few different features. I like TWRP a lot more.

Anyone have any idea why my screen recorder doesn't work ? I go from the power menu and get either of these messages...

You've missed the whole point of what I asked. I know what recoveries are, what they do. I know what zips are and what they do. I know how to flash them etcetera... Try again: I have CWM on my phone... I want to switch to TWRP... There are zip files of the RECOVERY on Graber's directory... Is there a way to FLASH THE RECOVERY, not the ROM, instead of using the fastboot method... What is the purpose of having the RECOVERY in zip format other than to use it to be flashed in a bootloader or other method. I'm trying to change the RECOVERY without using a computer via fastboot method. Make more sense? I'm already well versed in the ROM side of things. I just haven't found any info on loading a recovery other than in fastboot...

Lol sorry my bad. You should be able to just download an app called "Flashify" and go from there. If I remember correctly you can download and flash TWRP right from the app.

Perfect, thanks. Was wondering what the hell was up with the recoveries as a zip. I'll check it out. Is there any particular reason we are running a JDM on a dyno with an open cooling system?

I have a G8 GT that's getting built for HPDE next year. About 500 RWHP N/A. I just saw the coolant funnel and wondered why it was an open cooling system on the dyno...

I forget why. That's something my tuner did. I really don't know. Lol I think he did that at the beginning to make sure there was no air in the system or something like that

Sweet. Flashify=awesome. Don't know why I never heard of it. Still had to use the IMG file instead of ZIP but worked perfect. No more fastboot BS. Flashed TWRP no issues. Gonna start the ROM updating after work. Thanks the help.

Yeah... I've used ROM manager and all that before and they never seem to want to work right... Stuff doesn't show up, or it doesn't flash properly. Flashify was on point right after install. Can't ask for much more.

You ever check out ROM toolbox? That's my all time favorite app. The pro version is well worth buying. Some awesome features.

I tried ROM toolbox and it kept acting fishy. Dunno if it was the ROM I had before but I just never tried it again since that. Anyone else having flash issues? I just downloaded 0404 to flash and TWRP get FAILED Could not open ZIP... Bad download?
