Can people on the KK bootloader do someting for me? Restore your stock rom, get a lock on your gps location using google maps, and while you have a lock on location reboot into recovery and wipe and reinstlall the latest kitstalk. I believe it was switching back to KK that messed it up and you need to do that trick to get a lock. I couldn't get a GPS lock on another rom i build. I tried that trick and restored my setup and bam, GPS is fine.

I can confirm that works for me on XT926 after manually going to 442 KK stock.

While on 442 Stock KK, changed all GPS related settings before flashing KitStalk444 for KKBL. (Inlcuding setting to High Accuracy)

GPS instantly locks and works fine after with latest KKBL build.

This is the same fix that worked for me one of the first KKBL KitStalk Builds from July.

 

NOTE: Personal preference, I'm using a way older version of GMaps (6.14.4) and it still crashes when i try to change GPS settings, but settings were retained from when i configured them in the Stock 442.

I did not have the crashing issue with latest version of GMaps.

 

Anyone tested HDMI out yet with latest KKBL build?

I had issues with DicePlayer, but MXPlayer seems to work well.

Waze is a much better GPS app. I don't like gmaps.

I agree I use waze for work. I travel 700 miles a week with it. Love it!!

Honestly, I would wipe everything (except the SD cards, flash my zip from the op, then try the GPS trick. Do the wipes And flash a fresh copy of KitStalk.
Yes I love waze too, it blows Google maps out of the water.

I can understand that. You know how frustrated I was getting when I kept building and testing and changing stuff and building and testing... Over and over... and GPS wouldn't lock? Finally I asked someone and they said they the old trick, bam gps is working again.
You absolutely must have a GPS lock while you reboot into recovery. After that you should be good.

I am just frustrated because I've followed your instructions and I do get a solid lock before flashing. I am leaning towards a corrupted stock. Hopefully I can try the one you posted. Thanks again.

Yeah turn it on, get a lock in maps. While in maps and it shows your location, reboot into recovery and wipe and restore KitStalk or flash it again

That is what I did 3 times already. No help. I will go back to jb

Don't use restore. That might be where you are getting messed up on. After a lock on is completed ,and it is on the GPS not wifi, reboot into recovery, wipe data factory reset and flash update. GPS should be golden then.


Suggest using GPS test from the Playstore. Works better then the rest to lock on.

I forgot... Flash it, it will fail then (no wipes) flash it again.

Alright just a few things. 1.) philz does not error out when flashing the stock rom. 2.) there is no way to reboot straight to recovery from the stock rom. so I downloaded maps, downloaded flashify, got a lock, and then went in to flashify and rebooted to recovery really fast. 3.) I restored to the build I had previously and it LOOKS like it worked. I'll navigate home later tonight and edit this post on if it's fixed tonight. thanks a ton nprevette420! EIDT: Looks good. I'm driving a little further tomorrow and will check and see if GPS works 100%. 👍

Thank you very much nprevette420 and nobe1976! I think we were all on the right path to the issue. I was trying my stock restore and it wouldn't work at all. If anyone has the same issue that we have dealt with on my phone, please use the debloated stock that nprevette posted in the OP.

100% ROM for me. Gps, everything. fantastic! I've noticed that some of the letters and numbers have dots or blemishes on them. I'm so happy with this guys. Amazing.

XT926 KKBL on 8-29 build running great!

 

Minor issue:

Blue flickering while Torch is on + hover is present @ Lock Screen.

Disabling hover = no blue flickering.

 

Update:

WiFi Tethering works great too!

WiFi is not re-enabled automatically after turning off Tethering AP.
