I think they just forgot to update that part of the build.prop file because there are changes from the .230 to the .240
I have noticed they added the breathing Missed calls, SMS and Voicemail option that is in the .240 and not in .230 also now there is more toggle icons. Just because about phone still says an older version doesn't mean it hasn't been updated. I noticed too that it says build date is Jan 31st, its just not edited there. Check here for a full list of updates

Have you updated to the newest version of CWM or TWRP? KitKat only works with the updated versions of recovery. I am using CWM 6.0.4.4 touch recovery.
Version 4.4.240 is working great for me and i am using pa gapps micro.
Thanks. i finally got 2.6.3.0 twrp installed. I have been busy at work. checking it out now. well, not a good start. something failed, then it restarted and stuck in a boot loop. i guess i can try to redownload.

Try a redownload of the ROM, it installs fine for me on CWM. I havent used TWRP in a very long time, but it should still work on that too.
Make sure you wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and system (at least 2 times each) before installing any new ROM. I personally don't like dirty flashing because it can cause problems.

It took a while to get the ROM to stick, but now it's amazing! Thanks! Would anyone happen to have a link that explains the various init.d or build.prop tweaks? I don't want to pick things I shouldn't.

I use the CM11 official ROM and try this Beanstalk ROM and I get terrible outgoing voice quality.
On original factory JB ROM dont have this issue.
Any solution or idea?
Thanks.

These KitKat roms technically are still alpha or beta. There are still issues to work out but for the most part they are daily drivers.
