what version of CWM do you have? I got a status 7 error once when I didn't use the latest version of CWM when I did a flash.now i am getting a status 7 failure. wtf. why me tonight.

that's why you got the error. In my previous post I mentioned that you need to use the latest version - 6.0.4.4. Once I upgraded everything was peachy.6.0.1.4

okay. problem is i lost all my backups when i left twrp. cwm formatted my backups. i will have to do it over fastboot i guess right?

yes. But to be on the safe side, make sure you download mfastboot. It works exactly as fastboot does, but it's made for Motorola devices.okay. problem is i lost all my backups when i left twrp. cwm formatted my backups. i will have to do it over fastboot i guess right?

make sure your recovery.img is in the same directory as your mfastboot stuff and then from the command line type mfastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img then hit enter. This should flash the nameofrecovery.img file to the recovery partition of your phonei think i have it in one of my tools...i have to remember how to do this crap.....lol

I don't want to jump the gun on this diagnosis, however, I feel like - at least for some roms - TWRP doesn't do a thorough enough wipe. Granted, I cannot provide any evidence to back me up on this, so please take my hypothesis with a grain of salt. I ALWAYS use CWM and I have NEVER had a problem. JMHO...

but turn out, the rom installation is kind of error
so i go back using cwm... and the error gone...
Get 6.0.4.4

Honestly, i don't like TWRP and I love CWM. Also i love how it's not just me helping out webtrix with his problem

Are you trying to install CWM? Just install using flashify as i said a few posts back. Its super easy way to flashing recoveries.
To go into fastboot, Power down and press and hold volume down + power for 5 seconds then release

Correct, they use 2 different formats. Are you on the most current TWRP?

i need to fastboot any recovery that will work. i have the phone in fastboot, i just cant remember what i do on the pc.
