Important message for those who use Google Launcher and Xposed GEL Settings

DO NOT UPDATE GOOGLE LAUNCHER. The update has broken the use of GEL settings with google launcher 

 

 

 

The recent GNL update broke all of XGELS functionality. Google decided to obfuscate the apk and therefor there is no way for me to make XGELS work again. They were using classes of com.android.launcher3 which are open source but it seems like they either renamed the packagename or something like that or they are basing GNL on something different.

 

Well... I don't have any words for this. I don't understand why Google doesn't want me to make more people use GNL. I for one will restore my TB and use it for a while but will eventually move on to Nova launcher I guess. There is literally no reason for me to use GNL. Especially in Germany many functions are not even working.

 

Thanks to everyone who sticked with XGELS. I'll miss it grately. Auf Wiedersehen!

Bunch of stuff has been changed by us so I recommend (not not require) doing CLEAN flash, but you can try dirty, even though its same build number (You can use Titanium Backup to backup/restore your user apps and data)

Honestly, i have no idea because I have never had to use it. Give it a try, it's a free app. And what blue theme are you talking about?

Let me see what i can do. And i use Tapatalk most the time and i didn't notice it changed.

i tried this rom one more time. still locks my phone in boot loop. sorry, but can get this running at all, no matter how many downloads or formats.

I'm assuming your unlocked and rooted: which recovery are you using?

xt907 that is why i posted here. I boot into recovery. wipe 3x. install latest version of rom 5/1. hangs at kitstalk logo then reboots.

Hmmm...what are you wiping? What is your EXACT process? This build (moto msm8960) works on 7 devices including the RAZR M (xt907). Are you installing GAPPS?

sure. i boot into recovery. click on wipe. go to advanced wipe. select everything but external_sd (Dalvick cache, system, cache, data, internal storage). i do this 3 times. reboot recovery. then install the rom. i always use micro gapps.

Did you check the MD5sum? Possible bad download. That is the only reason its not working. You are doing it correctly, but you don't need to wipe internal SD card. If that doesn't work then try installing with CWM Recovery using the same process.

I don't want to jump the gun on this diagnosis, however, I feel like - at least for some roms - TWRP doesn't do a thorough enough wipe. Granted, I cannot provide any evidence to back me up on this, so please take my hypothesis with a grain of salt. I ALWAYS use CWM and I have NEVER had a problem. JMHO...

i will try cwm again. its been a while since i used it. i will provide feedback how it goes. i want to use this rom really bad. i got it to work once before, but after a week my phone started freaking out.

just make sure that you are using the latest version of CWM - 6.0.4.4 is what I have and it works great. Let us know if you have any questions.
