Arg!!! Need help. I thought I had prepared well. I was rooted, so I unrooted, and flashed the stock recovery.img. However, the update failed and now it won't go past Fastboot.

If I attempt to manually fastboot flash anything from the 4.2.2 release, it fails. For example, if I fastboot flash boot boot.img I get Partition (boot) Security Version Downgraded preflash validation failed for boot.

I have a feeling that it partially updated and now won't take a flash of an older version. However, I don't have the newer .zip file to flash manually.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!

Wow.  You can try flashing the just the boot logo.  Preparing well, would have been to wait until you had backup.

Won't work.  We've seen this before. Some security thing's been tripped now and the only way I've seen to fix it is when a new FXZ comes out with a higher security version.

I suspect that on the locked devices a full FXZ back to stock is necessary before taking the update. Just "unrooting" (by whatever procedure) isn't enough as it still leaves behind modified stuff.  several people on XDA and the motorola forums are in the same boat.

Yeah im one of the people with a bricked phone, wish there was a fix other then waiting for the fxz which may take a while.
