Ah I guess I will have to go Crimson on it one of these days....... Looks great Bamma.

On a side note that bootanimation was a pain in the A$$. Thanks to mrlolli for helping me see the light on that, because I would of never had gotten that done without his help..

So now that Carbon has official nightlies for this phone how does this unofficial version differ? Just curious.

I am trying to try the carbon ROM for the first time.  I have been using RAGE 2.5.   I wiped everything and installed your latest updated Dark ROM, then installed the Dark GAPS.   Rebooted, but only have the Carbonite symbol, no animation, on screen for a very long time.  Is this normal?

Trying it again.  Do I have to mount system before installing ROM?  I mounted system, data, cache.

No you don't have to Mount system. That's was probably the issue the whole time.:D Updater takes care of all that $3π+ £®m€ ×X× ®∆z® |/|@xX Π¶ oπ $ø|/|£ťhïñğ ¢ű$ț¤|/|

Hi guys - I have success doing the mount and not doing it.  I'm not sure what base Rage has - it is a kick rear end ROM, no doubt.  But it is one of the few (Validus being another) that I've had issue with from time to time going back and forth.  Not sure it will add any value, but here's exactly what I do when I'm not sure about the start or end point (i.e. something like Rage)

Boot into twrp.

backup nandroid immediately

mount system

wipe - advanced - everything BUT internal / external storage.

back out, then Factory Reset (yes, I know, shouldn't matter)

go back in, then wipe - advanced everything BUT internal / external storage again (yes, I know............)

back out to main menu

be sure system is still mounted

install - pick ROM and pick correct GApps.  Install

Reboot

I have no idea if this is true or not - but I believe the base (i.e. system?) must be completely killed when going up or down.  And I also believe mounting system is required to do that.

Again - i may be smoking dope here - but based on what has worked for me, this is the conclusion I've drawn.

Hope this helps.

BTW  -  can we assume you are unlocked?

I tried again,  with no luck on the carbon ROM, Flashed RAGE 2.5 back on, and it boots. OK.   Yes I am rooted and unlocked.  I will follow your instructions and try the Carbon rom again.   This might be a stupid question, but do I have to flash anything prior to the

NO question is stupid.  I've not ever flashed anything BEFORE the ROM.  On this one, I've even flashed a new boot logo AFTER gapps ( I like booting to the Marine Corps EGA), with no issue.

Happy I could help.  I add so little value around these parts - it's cool when I can actually help someone from time to time!

A word of advise. Don't apply the arrrghhh kernel. Changes have been made and it kills rotation and camera. Thanks again... Play on

I can't take all the credit. Those Carbon devs can make a great source to build off of...

The arrrghhh kernel does is not meant for these croms. It kills, rotation, camera and superuser. Stick with the rom kernel, it is much more stable and just as good if not better.
