There are a number of ways to do this. I used Linux Deploy as it seemed the easiest.

Before you begin, decide where the image will live and what size you want. The recommendations are: 512MB without a GUI and 1024MB with a GUI. The app can install several different flavors, for mine I chose Kali Linux.

I did have to make some changes in the App for it to work properly. The path for the Kali distro was incorrect so that needs to be changed to:

(IIRC, there was another folder /kali in the path that was wrong).

 

Since its still installing, I cant post much more at this time....but I will try to add stuff as I play with it.

Having Kali installed on the phone is..... interesting.... to say the least... I have had Kali installed on my for a couple months now....(also using Linux deploy)

Although its not as "powerful" as desktop version(s), (typically due to missing/unavialable drivers).... it still can be very useful .... and fun..

ok, so without doing any research I first installed the armel version and then later installed the armhf version.

 

Doing some quick research says that the armel version is for older Android versions and chipsets and armhf for newer versions based on the chip in your device.

 

I havent done any performance testing or really any testing yet
