Just wanted to post another list of debloatable apps in ICS (this was done in .215) since everyone keeps asking. This was done using ROM Toolbox Pro so only the app name will be listed, not the actual apk file name. If you have anything that you SUCCESSFULLY froze or removed with no adverse actions, post it here and let me know, I'll add it to the OP. I will stress, these are just apps that CAN be removed or frozen, you don't HAVE to do this.

Awesome, I will have to debloat my Maxx and see what it does. I'm always used to bloat so it will be new for me :)

I never freeze anything though, I always just uninstall it. Even with removing all this bloat, there were still no adverse actions when removing these.

Freezing prevents having to backup and then reinstall most of the this crap when you want to take an ota. I've had many an ota fail because I didn't have let's golf installed. I don't suggest deleting or uninstalling rather just freeze them so they don't run in the background nonstop.

Right but like I said, it's not hard to just fastboot back and have all the bloat. There have also been issues reported with people freezing, then defrosting, then still having issues with the OTA.

It all boils down to preference. I myself don't want 40-50 apps on my phone that will never get used and don't need to be on there. Uninstalling/removing the bloat is perfectly fine to do. People just need to remember that they will have to fastboot back if they want to take on an OTA.

I agree. More likely than not run the fast boot commands in a dos prompt and only flash system+reinstall if data important. If all you did was install safe strap then a preinstall flash will do. I like the extra space :-)

Quick question: there's an app called Apps2zip that allows you to create a flashable zip of apps in data & system to use as a backup for when you change or upgrade your rom. Do you think this would work as a process to rebloat for ota's?

Voicemail (Orange icon in the app drawer) can be removed without anything happening. It is "Vvm.apk" in the /system/app folder.

I've always trusted a FastBoot to make sure there are no issues with taking an OTA.Edit: Sorry if that was a little off topic! Lol Not the FastBoot thread.

Enough of the Verizon bloat, is there a way to make the Google bloat less annoying? I can freeze the Google Play apps, but still get annoying update notifications even after doing the disassociate from market bit. Even removing Google apps completely you still get market notifications...
