So I got BW214 running and pushed the spider boot logo, I'll probly find out before I get an answer but wondering if anyone knows, will the boot logo get wiped with downgrading to 211? Also if so can I push that onto 215 if it does wipe it?

I've wiped a hundred times changing things and starting from scratch.. the custom boot logo remains.

Just shooting from the hip here but when you FB'd to 211 did you go through all the steps to set up the phone before you flashed 215? If so, try flashing immediately after the fastboot without setting the phone up first. Just a shot in the dark.

Hmm... not sure if root will take on 215 or not but since you have to be unrooted to flash I'm pretty sure you can do a back to back flash. You may want to see if 215 can be rooted. My thinking is that possibly by not starting the setup, moto connectivity may not be able to hook into the OS to make it's changes and screw up the update.

K let me start over this week i have had no 4g so i was running 215 as my daily and Jekyll on the safe side. Thought something got screwed up from going back and forth between systems so i ran the moto app on my 215 side but it didnt help. Now i used matts utility to fastback to 211 and start over. Use utility to gain root install voodoo temp unroot install 615 from ext sd and get that error. Since i have had no 4g before and now with a fresh install i wonder if its hardware..sim?

Morning, it must be that time of year. After doing some playing / trashing I had to do the same thing just yesterday. The way I do it is like this:

FB back to 211
Reboot the phone all the way up to the point that you get to the start screen.
Power off the phone.
Boot stock recovery
Flash 215 then reboot and setup the phone.

Yes you can root from 215.

I've found that for some reason (at least on my phone) when doing the FB you have to start it up to the point of the start screen. It must be setting up the directories and what not. This is why you/I can't flash 215 immediately.

If you find this information was helpful and useful, please thank the folks here at droidrzr.com for allowing us this fine place to communicate and help each other.

Thanks for the reply. I ommitted the fact that yes you have to get to start screen but no further. Thanks for the clarification.

Please let us know how it goes. Could be that by using a moto app such as this, it persists even after a fastboot and it acts like an OTA update but doing it locally for some reason.
Oh and check the MD5 on the 215 zip too. Possible corrupted download.

Hey just pokin around my files and found a update radio failure.zip in sdcard or internal memory. Looked at it with editor and it has what looks to be a full system scan does android log issues or is this motorola also at end it says something like this file system will be automatically scanned every 24 mounts or 180 days is this norm?
Oh yea the file mentions the exact assert failure as my op

I dunno. Theres obviously something not stock that seems to persist after a fastboot. I'm wondering if something on one of your sd's (internal and/or ext) that wants to mess up something. Why not try a wipe and format of both sd's after making a backup of what you want to keep? Then fastboot using matts utility and trying a flash of 215. Right now that's about all I can think of.
