Start with stock, or stock rooted .211, that has never had .214 or safestrap/bootsrap installed (if you have, fastboot back to bone stock .211)
copy file to SD card, if you transfer thru USB be sure to unplug USB cable before proceeding further
power phone off, once off press and hold volume up,volume down and power all at the same time, this will bring up a menu with choices including AP fastboot, Recovery and a few others I can't remember, use volume down to scroll to recovery and volume up to select it.
Once you see the android bot (with something in his stomach or something, I haven't actually been to this yet) press both volume buttons at the same time, this will bring up the recovery menu, choose install zip (or install update, i'm not sure haven't done it yet, i've just read enough to know) and choose the file once it installs reboot and you should be golden.

TO OP, and really everyone who posts ROM and tweaks on here, for the sake of the "newbs" please always give step by step instructions, especially with how weird the steps to get to stock recovery are, Knowing what I know now the 1 time so far that I fastbooted was unnecessary, but it happened because at that time safestrap hadn't been explained, like it is now.

to get the fastboot screen on, just reset the phone (ppwer down or hold PWR/Vol Down for 10secs). Then before the phone starts rebooting hold both volumne keys at the same time, holding pwr at this point is not needed... The Fastboot screen will come up, its just white text....

I got mine unbricked, at 211 stock right now...

So I was a little dumb and wanted to see what would happen if I installed this already running Simplex 1.2 so I booted into stock recovery and tried it out. It installed successfully and and rebooted the phone. Kernel is reflecting the new July 11 date sooo my question is, how did this work without going back to stock and do I really need to actually flash the .215 rom?
Edit: wanted to say noticing a significant improvement with the browser not lagging and being choppy, and I'm positive my lte was updated because it took a min or so to get my connection back once rebooting. I did wipe cache in stock recovery before flashing the update. I'm still surprised this worked as it was really just a wild test on my part. Also used ota rootkeeper before rebooting into recovery to flash. Don't know if that made a difference in allowing this to actually work. Anyone have a clue how this worked ?

OK. I flashed to .215 from stock .211, no root. It didn't fix the GPS problem, in fact it got worse (no lock at all). Tried Matts 1.81 to restore to .211 and it hangs:
This is a fairly simple process, but not as simple as getting back to .211 from .214.

If you are new to this, please fully read all the directions before starting this process. Remember, check how much battery you have.

1) Download Matt's Droid Razr Utility 1.81 from the link above.
2) Extract the files from the .zip (Creates DroidRazrUtility1.81 folder)
3) Go into the DroidRazrUtility folder and start the DroidRazrUtility batch file
4) At the Batman logo, press any key to continue.
5) At the next menu, select option "1" (Fastboot Restore 6.16.211 (ICS 4.0.4 Official OTA Software)) by typing 1 and pressing enter.

** DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING AT THE NEXT SCREEN UNTIL STEP 10**

6) Attach your phone to your PC with a USB cable.
7) Power down your phone
8) While phone is off, hold down both volume keys (up+down) and the power key.
9) Use the Volume Down key to select "AP Fastboot" and then use the Volume Up key to select it.
10) On the DroidRazrUtility, press any key to continue. (I get here and nothing happens. Batch file says waiting for device. Phone says device locked.) I waited 10 minutes nothing. I push the power button and phone reboots, still with .215. It seems to be hanging at this step. I have tried 3 times same result.
11) Keep an eye on your phone, it will turn off and on again.
12) Follow the on screen instructions and press any key why your phone's display turns on.
13) Repeat Steps 11-12 one more time

** .211 install should take around 5-10 minutes **

14) When the screen asks if you want to wipe data, hit any key to continue OR exit the program to KEEP DATA.
15) Tap the power key to bring you out of AP Fastboot, then it should power down.
16) Turn on your phone to see a screen of an Android with his chest open. Wait.

Any thoughts on what's happening or not happening?
Incidentally I am a noob at this stuff. I normally leave everything alone.

did you install the drivers from the driver folder of the utility?
move your step 6 to between step 9 and 10, in other words put the phone into AP fastboot BEFORE connecting it to the computer
when launching the utility, right click and "run as administrator" in windows

just do the .215 update, you can use voodoo to temp un-root, but several have said they didn't and did not lose root.

It's 215. Motorola names their files after the version it goes on top of. Mediafire mirror should work.
