I am already on .211, but the update to .215 fails with an error 7. I have a feeling I renamed some bloat from '.apk'. to '.bak' but can't seem to find them. Thought I would just restore the original .211 to get the files back, but would rather not wipe everything if there is no DEFINITE benefit. Since most people seem to have differing views of benefit, based on use, I may try it if I don't have to do much work... lol.

Yeah just a few calls but I couldn't have got that life before.. use or no use. Just pointing out the only way to reliably tell the true battery performance across all users would be to have everyone use the phone the exact same way for comparisons.

Hey it's a damn good ROM. Wished he was still here. Even my wife loves it. Her razr died and got the replacement yesterday. Used Matt's 1.81 to get it setup, put the Ikream on it and she told me how much faster and smoother the phone was and the battery life was great. Heck, my wife doesn't notice that stuff. Glad she's happy and glad we got great utilities and roms at our access.

Please help. See below. Yes I am new to android.

I downloaded the 6.16.215 updated and I can see it on the download folders under ES file explorer. When I go to reset the phone and update from external source, there is nothing showing for the update.

I downloaded it to my desktop on my computer and then plugged in the maxx, opened my computer, clicked on the f drive and opened the download folder and copied and paste the update folder into their. I then disconnected my maxx and went into boot mode. Then to update from external source, and all that is showing in blue coloring is the following
../
.geotagtempdir/
LOST.DIR/

If I do a Factory Reset, will I have to reload 215?

question... Since I have been working 80hrs and my phone has been dead most every night lately, I am still on 209... can i go directly to 215 or do i need to update to 211 first?... This may be a moot question since dumbass me tried to go to 211 using Rom Manager and the phone is now bricked.... downloading the newest 1.81 Utility now and the 215 update, so that should fix the problems....

ummm... seems this 42MB file just looks so small compared to the .181 Blur package which was 10x's bigger... sure this does everything to upgrade the Kernal to 215?

the Utility is taking forever, so tomorrow morning it is....

this .215 file is the kernel and a few more things, the kernel is just a small piece of the overall operating system. infact the kernel itself is only about 8 MB.

Also coming from .209 you may have to use the 1.7 utility's Unstuck ICS option to enable the sideload of .211, depends on if the .211 kernel made it in your attempted flash that bricked your phone.
