Stupid question time...

When I try to download the leak, first link is out of bandwidth and the mirrored link only has the .211 file, not a .215 or even .214. The .211 file is still about 42mb as the update should be. When attempting to load from restore it aborts every time.

So is this the right/wrong file? Anyone wanna help out a bonehead? Thanks.

go back and read any leak thread, motorola leak file names are named by the version they have to be flashed over, its the right file., are you on stock .211, with never having installed safestrap or .214?

Darn mobile phone. Lol. I am stock .211, nothing else added or done. Do I need to run something else first?

Okay..so I tried it again and it aborted again with the following info:

Assert failed: apply_patch_check
E: error in tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status7)

So I guess two questions now would be does ICS 4.0.4 sideload differ from the actual OTA and if so is that the problem. And any ideas what I need to do next to get this working?

Oh yeah, do I need to be hooked up to the USB while doing this or can I just do it whenever long as I've got a good charge? Thanks again for all the help.

Delete the file you have and redownload it. I might be mistaken i think the assert failled: status 7 is a bad md5? And no your phone doesn't need to be plugged in to update.

Okay, deleted the file and downloaded from the mirror site again. Tried installing again and failed again with same errors.

I download all my files to transfer to phone via my PC. There's a neat little program called fastsum that will check any file on your computer. Just drag n drop file in fastsum window and hit the green run key on the top.

@wyld. Thanks for the information. I checked the md5 and it appears to match. I tried today to revert back to stock .211 using Matt's utility 1.8.1. I had previously installed safestrap 2.0. Do we need to unistall that completely for the leak to take?

Okay, I finally got .215 to work. The md5 appeared to match up. I ended up going back and rereading Matt's information for the Droid Razr Utility for 1.7 and found some information for the errors. The answer I came up with was running Matt's Droid Razr Utility 1.81 again and Fastbooting .211 again (this was actually the third time since trying to update to .215). And then when I did the update from SD card this time it actually worked. So all I can really say is try Fastbooting .211 again and then updating to .215 and hope that it works this time. Sorry I don't have more help.

From my personal experience with an OG razr, I'm getting much better battery life on 215 compared to 214. Been unplugged for 14 hours and still have 60% battery left.

214 had poor battery life for me, then I installed google now and it got even worse. Havent tried it on 215 yet.

Yes i would uninstall SafeStrap for the update to take ! lol download the 1.81 DRU(Droid Razr Utility) wipe data make sure you have a fresh install of .211...thats what i would do.

I would post to OP right now but my laptop is packed away and so is my iPad. Tapatalk isn't working correctly either. Otherwise I would edit the OP with the screenshot. Haha.

I'm at work and our filters block image hosting sites. If you put the actual MD5 in a post instead of an image i'll put it in the OP.
