Can someone explain the what the "downgrade package" is?

And is it necessary to un-root and re-root for this?

I am on the .214 leak

Thanks!

You can just use the Droid Razr Utility 1.81

1: Choose option 1. to flash the .211 stock

2: Then, Choose option 6. to flash the .211 boot.img (You will then be on .211 stock)

3: Then you can update using stock recovery to udate to .215

No need for option 6 after option 1.....

My impressions so far, battery had gotten better from 211 214 215. Granted only have had 215 a few days but it looks good so far.don't notice much else different, maybe smoother and better 4g, but very hard to prove. I did switch to hotplug from interactive last night, since i had the best life with this setup with 214. Very happy

Has anyone tried webtop with this new build? I am wondering if you can use chrome on webtop now since its now included with this build. or if there has been any improvements to webtop all together.

First post and first day on .215. My Razr Maxx definitely seems more smooth and responsive with .215 which is nice. I don't have a ton of apps installed, but my battery life seems about the same as it was on .211. After a week and a half with the Maxx I've been disappointed with overall battery life. It lasts all day at work, but I'm not on it that much, and typically I'm hitting 30% by the time I get home. I've installed Gsam battery and BBS and haven't noticed anything crazy eating battery. Maybe this is just as good as it gets?

Haven't tried it on 215 specifically, but the version number for Webtop is the same as it was in 211, so I wouldn't expect much of a difference (I would expect Chrome to be there, since all the other apps are as well).

When you phone is idle for a couple hours check gsam battery. Look at app usage. My kernel on 215 is using like 49% battery when idle. That's insane and a good reason why my phone has gone from 1day8hrs to 19hrs average. I'm going back to .214

Appreciate the input, the high kernel usage is exactly why I am trying 215. I've hard reset and wiped this phone probably 10 times in the past week just trying to get somewhere close to the advertised battery life. I have strong 4G signal here, and 4G is awesome, but maybe the long battery life requires 3G? I've seen several posters claim 4G and long battery, so I'm still hoping to find that magic combination. I'm in an office of iphone worshippers and I'm trying to convince them of how awesome Android is!

Don't waste your breath. You'll have a better chance convincing a cop that the reason you were speeding was because you had to poop really bad.

But def 4G use more battery and I'm sure the minor switch from 3G to 4G every once in a while draws more battery as well.

I too have this same problem. I am on .211 stock though only rooted. I got the phone already on ICS, so no idea what GB looked like. Otherwise really liking this phone, if I can get even more battery, I would be super excited. Much better than my old Droid Charge. Running on wifi mostly I can get 2 days usage out of it.

Ok... got all the steps. But why is the zip file on page 1 saying 2.16.211? The screenshot show 2.16.215

My phone shows 2.16.211. Followed directions to the letter.

Used utility to go to stock .211
Rooted with utility
Downloaded Voodoo Root Keeper (from store, as utility wouldn't allow it)
Backed up root
Temp Unroot
Turned off phone.
3 buttons to boot to Fastboot
Chose "recovery"
Chose update zip

Showing 211

Should I restore root?
Disappointed and hurt. Not surprised.

After updating to this and flashing Arctic 214 and running CPU sleep, my battery is fantastic!

The zip's version number reflects the S/W version you're updating FROM . . . not going TO. That just seems to be the way Moto does it.

Did you put the zip (~64 MB titled ...211...) on your SD card's root directory?

Just following up my earlier post on the battery life on 215. Seems about the same as what I was experiencing on 211. Below screenshot shows 60%, gsam says 55%. Display on time on the phone is 1H 47M. Still seems like it is draining much faster than advertised. Should have included that I am using auto settings for screen brightness.

Yeah, I like this post too. You guys are a little too fair when it comes to dealing with things in my opinion. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing as a whole.

Agreed....... been a few times IMO where thigns needed to be done different but its not my call as I'm here to assist as time permits for me. So i kinda step back and keep my lips shut and post trying to be polite asking everyone to get along and let thigns in the past be. Was always told by Dad you can't change the past so not pointing in holding on to it, just move on an d go wit hthe flow. Makes life a hell of alot easier as well IMO then holding on to the past.

Now with that said people lets leave this OLD stuff behind us. Its a different day & we can't change yesterday, last time I'm asking politely. I get one more email, PM or what not over this type of stuff I have no choice but to take the gloves off and get this put to rest for good. And some of you folks may not like it. So PLZ drop it and move on. We are all here to help each other out in whatever way we can. That does NOT mean we all have every answer under the sun just remember that before you post about another memebers post or opinion. Thank you from myself & the rest of the Staff.
