Are we able to run the current ROMs with the 215 update?

I dont think so, If I'm wrong someone will correct me but this update should have changed the system version to 6.16.215 and the build date on the kernel should have been July 11th

It sounds like you flashed the previous leak instead of the newest one. Where did you download it from?

1. When on .211 in Stock Recovery - some people said simply wipe cache, others had problems and it was recommended to wipe data and cache - which is it? kind of like trial and error, i suppose?

2. Will Matt's 1.81 Utility work on Windows 7 being run via Parallels on my Mac?

Read grumblings a few pages back about better/quicker connecting 4G LTE reception - anyone confirm this? I'm in NY area, if that makes a difference.

That was another idea that crossed my mind because the file names on the ZIP files can be extremely confusing. Download it again to your computer so you can see the file name again, and then make sure thats the one you flash in motorecovery.

I'm having a bit of a difficulty understanding the install process. Could someone more knowledgeable help out?

Currently on .214 & KOA ROM with Safestrap 2.0. I plan on switching to a different ROM after updating this, so wiping data is what I'll be doing.

1. Does safestrap need to be disabled/uninstalled first?

The following questions are contingent upon safestrap being left as is.

2. When using Matt's utility (1.8) to downgrade to .211, do you do this with safemode disabled/uninstalled?

3. Wipe data/factory reset - in safemode or non?

Thank you.

Nothing with you current setup will matter. Boot into AP Fastboot Mode, run the option to fastboot to .211, go into stock recovery and perform a factory reset. You'll be at complete stock .211. Make sure to either patch 1.8 or use 1.81 though as there was a bug in 1.8.

I believe that if you use Matt's Utility to downgrade to .211, Its going to wipe the data on the non-safe side anyway, so Safestrap will be completely removed. And If I have been reading correctly is needs to be gone to use Motorecovery to flash the .215 upgrade. So using the utility will make a 100% stock version of .211 which is needed for the upgrade.

After you do the upgrade to .215, you will need to root, install SS again, and follow any instructions from the ROM dev for the install.

Used AP Fastboot and Matt's Utility (1.8.1) option 1. Then wiped data from from the utility and it reported "you are now at stock .211). Trying to get into recovery and it's sitting with an Android icon with the red exclamation mark.

Other than putting this on my phone being very easy i will tell you this.

I regret doing it. Should have stayed stock.
There are no improvements. All the reports of smoother interface and better radios are totally unfounded on my end. TBH my phone is less stable.

This is a leak of ICS for droid 4, not our razrs. I suggest waiting for the real ota to be available and not to waste your time on this.

Its buggy with no improvements. Wipe cache and all, nothing got better. Somethings got worse. Battery life is identical.

Hmm, I got better 4g with this one. At work where 4g is on the fringe, I would see 3 bars of 4g.

Where is your proof that this leak is for droid 4?

Leak is only 2 days old, way to soon for anyone to really say that battery life is better or worse.

The proof is on the moto mobility support forums.

The people on there know whats going on with leaks better than these people.

Funny thing is, at the moto forums topics like this arent even allowed..

Im not going to post proof to anyone who can simply google the question they have. Im not your slave labor.

The signal is honestly not any different. Bars mean nothing, before 215 i had -100dbm signal, i now have anywhere from -100dbm to -114dbm.

You guys seems to be assuring yourselves that this is some kind of magic bullet for the razr and im telling you that unfortunately no. It isnt. I really suggest to be more calculating before making people think that this will help their phone when the truth is it just makes it more difficult to receive the OTA updates... I truly wish i hadnt done this.

jeez... not again... same thing as when I tried to flash .214...

E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

I know other people were having this error, did it ever get figured out?

Any time Ive had that error I've deleted everything on my card but the update. No problems after that. Might be a bad download as well.

Sorry to hear you aren't having a good time with it, but I am finally getting good battery life on my OG Razy for the first time since I bought it in January. I have had horrible battery life until the .215 leak...all of a sudden, I'm actually able to use my phone without watching it die.
