hi there, i'm noob and i'm smart@$$.
now my phone is all black :P

my history:
after i choose option 1, the process was starting fine.
i reboot my device, get the dead droid laying on the ground. :(
i pressed both volume keys.
and there some recovery menu.

the question is, what to choose then?
Did version 1.8 still need to copy the ICS into sdcard? coz i didn't do it.

pls help  and sry for my english.

What do you mean, "phone is all black"? when doing option 1 did you first put your phone into AP fastboot and not recovery? AP fastboot is reached by pressing all 3 (power, volume up and down) at the same time then you can use option 1 to fastboot to stock .211, there should not be any problem rebooting after that flashed as it totally wipes all internal memories.

Hi, I was running the stock 2.3.6 OTA from verizon when the ICS update came out and it kept failing. So i used Droid Razr Utility 1.7 Option 1 to prepare my phone for ICS. I then used the actual OTA file from verizon to update my phone. Everything went well and all works. Im rooted using the thrid option in Droid Razr Utility 1.7. What i am wondering is with Droid Razr Utility 1.8 is there anyting besides option 7 that i need to do in order to install the newer kernal that is said to increase battery life. Do I need to do option 1 again because something was missing from Droid Razr Utility 1.7?

Go back to AP Fastboot (all the buttons) select recovery. If the dead Droid comes back, hit both volume buttons, then Wipe data and cache

Help. When I choose option 2. It sits at the "Waiting for device..." prompt. I did notice that as soon as I plug the phone into the USB cable, Windows 7 assigns drive letters to the internal and external cards, leading me to believe that it is not connected as a media device. I had the same issue with the 1.7 utility trying to root this phone as well. I uninstalled the Motorola drivers, installed the new ones in this package and still the same results.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for all you guys do.

I am on stock 211

If you have a different usb cable, try using it, and a different usb port. Always worth trying that quick fix!

Tried other cables and other usb ports. Still no success.

When Windows assigns drive letters to internal and external card as soon as I plug in phone to usb port means I'm dead in the water and shouldn't even attempt to run the bat file, right?

Sorry if this question has already been asked, but, I'm on 209 and am wanting to jump over to 211 or 214. Do I just flash option 1 or 7? Or do I need to follow a bunch of steps because I'm only on 209?

Quoting myself to see if someone can answer.

I think you just replace the two original files with these two new updated files but I am not sure either.
