Could use some help. Trying to use the utility to go back to stock. It fails on sending mbm (the first command). Now the process is failing. Has anyone had this issue and what can I do to get back up and running? Thanks!
What (if any) error messages / text lines are you getting when you run it?

Tell me something , Will it work on any Razr Maxx ? Mine is not Verizon, I got it from Hong Kong.
Thank You
You can find the sbf files for your phone on and use them with RSD lite to flash your phone.

This utility ONLY works for a RAZR or RAZR MAXX XT912 (CDMA) - which is the Verizon version of it. If it is a 910 version (GSM, generally non-US), find something similar in the International section of the forums. You should check in the phone information for the model you have - receipt, about phone in system settings, box, etc. Hong Kong doesn't necessarily mean it's a 910 version, but that's most likely. Or, as jw noted, you can RSD lite to flash it.
One other thing. You say you get to the Droid laying down. You should push on volume up and down buttons simultaneously, then choose recovery (that's Moto Recovery) from the menu, if it doesn't autoload. Often you need to hit it once with the preinstall, then you can run the file through factory recovery like a factory OTA install. Your call, but since you've been through it a couple of times, I doubt you'll run into any big problem. Just sounds like it's stalling out. If it truly is a the 910 model, however, I would avoid messing with it until you have the proper files. Some pretty critical system files are different in that model, and you can easily brick if using wrong files.

if you don't do a factory reset after flashing it will never work right AND you might need to do the reset a couple times before it decides to work properly.
AND wipe cache now and then and don't overload the phone with too many apps all at once
after all that mine woks perfectly

I was going to say that, but then it sounds like that's the only advice I ever give.

Anyhoo, Here is what I have found that I would like to try: [RECOVERY][GSM/CDMA][ICS] Bootstrap BootMenu - version 0.2.7 from:
Problem. I found out the hard way that this program cannot coincide with SafeStrap being installed.
I've searched some in google and all the references into removing "SafeStrap" seem to involve clicking on the (APP) - of which I don't have and removing recovery, then going into the System/Apps and uninstalling SafeStrap from there - of which I also don't have.
Please help! Thanks.
PS: Any way to retain my backup of Artic HD (Assuming I'm going to stick with it) that I made in SafeStrap Recovery and Restoring once/if I get [RECOVERY][GSM/CDMA][ICS] Bootstrap BootMenu - version 0.2.7 up and running?
Thanks.
My reasons for switching is trying to create a multi-boot ROM environment in which I understand the Bootstrap BootMenu can accomplish similiarly to what I had with "Boot Manager" on my Droid X. I hate how all these devices seem to make one have to re-learn this process and they're even damn locked down Motorola's via Verizon.

You have several things going on at once here (some of which are related), so let's try to break it down a bit:
Safestrap: There are some ancillary files on Safestrap that you should remove to make sure there are no remnants that will kill or conflict with a different recovery (though I'll admit I never actually bother doing that, and it's never caused a problem). You can remove programs using the Apps option in System Settings, or with Titanium Backup Pro, or ROM Toolbox Pro, and about a dozen other programs, BUT you must be on the unsafe side. So....
- Go into Safestrap recovery, make a nandroid backup of everything (your Arctic ROM and apps, etc.), go into safestrap menu options and toggle to the unsafe side to disable.
- On unsafe side, go into your apps draw, open Safestrap, then choose delete recovery.
- Now you should be able to uninstall the app from app manager, or by finding the apk, long-clicking on it, and choosing uninstall.
- You should also find the Safestrap folder in your sdcard and your sdcard-ext folder, and delete any remnants there - BUT you should keep your nandroid backups. I've done this with the first iteration of ICS, and not had a problem with ICS deleting the backups (ICS will delete all data from an app when it uninstalls for security reasons), but for piece of mind, you should copy the latest nandroid backups that you want, and put them in some other folder so they are safe.
The operative word in Custom ROMs is custom, and although BootMenu Manager is highly adaptive, so are the developers, and if they can find a way to streamline code and make the ROM faster, they will, and this may include changing things that other programs are looking for. So the answer is Yes, make sure you verify how to do it. As a side note, Boot Manager, IMO, is not designed for a novice user. Nothing wrong with that, you just need to be adept at different ways to get back to home base. The failsafes are good, but a script may break and you'll be in one of the backup recoveries without a guidebook, so you should get some knowledge if you don't have it yet. I'm making a big assumption there - you're experience with the Droid X may make it second nature and you'll be flying from the start.....
The clarification should be noted in my strikethrough above. Bootstrap is generally understood to be a very specific recovery, along with Safestrap. BootMenu Manager, which is Project Lense, is completely different. If you throw the word Bootstrap into the mix, it confuses people as to which you are referring. If I didn't already know, by random circumstance, what it was, I would have assumed that you meant Bootstrap (the one with the scary icon).
I agree with rickw, though, if you're going that route, you should really do a full wipe - which also eliminates all the steps in uninstalling Safestrap. You may be able to pull a lot from the backup as long as you avoid system files and data, but as noted above, what you want to do is complicated and beyond the scope of this thread - and technically we are OT now as well, other than noting that you can use the utility to get back to stock before you start this project.
ROM choices are extremely subjective and based on the user and what they want, and I would be doing everyone a disservice by inadvertently starting the 1,803rd thread on DROIDRZR about "What's the best ROM?" Also, Matt would probably change my avatar to a toad or a beetle.

help, im getting the following msg: 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. when i hit any key to start the rooting sequence
You need to make sure you unzipped the zip file into a directory on your desktop with all the files together. Your error message is telling you that as far as the computer is concerned, adb doesn't exist, which means that you are running adb from the wrong directory or it's not installed. You need to type the command cd c:/Desktop or something similar to get your terminal to be in the same directory as where you put the adb files, or the commands will fail when they run, because they won't find those files. Or if not in command mode, the bat file needs to be run from the directory where adb files are.
The following instructions are for Mac/Linux version , but much of the overall organization and approach are the same. Section 5 has a detailed explanation about directory strings and changing your directory so it works.
