I have 211 and this is only the second time I've rooted. Just selected 2. Debugging check, Not mass storage check, and installed drivers check. Worked perfect! just thought you should hear that with so many doing things wrong or just going wrong.
On my last phone, HTC Incredible, I rooted doing a one click method that put clockwork recovery on my phone for flashing and recovery. What option would be best for me drom here? I have no clues about safestrap or bootstrap. I may install ROMS one day but would like to do a backup. Thanks again!

Ugh every thing went perfect except the last step. All the first 6 steps worked fine, but at the 7th step it says

(((sending "boot"....OKAY Writing "boot"....OKAY Rebooting into bootloader. You may now reboot.)))

So I power off and back on got to Settings > about phone...and it still says 6.16.211. Yes Debug on obvioulsy and in AP Fast boot. Also did the driver install as well.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm confused? You used the utility to restore to .211. That's why it says .211. What are you trying to do?

Step 7 is to .214

You should go all the way to .215. Put .215 on your SD card. Restore to stock .211 then install .215 in Moto recovery

Edit.. Are you saying you did all the 7 numbers on the utility. I hope not because bootstrap and safestrap are not compatible. Also # 7 on the utility just installs the .214 Kernel so your software will still be .211 but your kernel date should say Mid July

That will get you to .211 with the .214 Kernel which is where you are at. What you should do is grab .215 and put it on your SD card. Run #1 to fastboot back to .211 then go to Moto recovery and install .215. That will get you to the latest and greatest.

Only 1 of the 2 driver packages should install as one install is for 32-bit and the other install is for 64-bit, you need to install the package for your version of windows.

You should be able to root with 1.81 on .215. What is the issue? Do you have USB debugging turned on??

Got it all up and Running with root and 215. For some reason I had to use Mass storage to get it to work, but it did and I am stoked. Thanks to all you who provide developments and those who help reason things out!
