Why was it removed? When Validus first came out it had both. Don't get me wrong, its a great ROM with awesome theaming and customizations i just prefer one with the theme engine. And i love the boot animation in 5.0

I moved to a slim base unfortunately at the time there were issues with themes and implimentation would be a waste of my time. Others on my community found great ways to make up for it with various tools. Though there are rumors of slim possibly adding their own version to the mix we shall see. yes jaekar99 did a wonderful job with the animation
