I hope my foggy memory doesn't make it impossible to help me.  About 7 months ago my Droid Bionic went into perpetual boot loop.  I can not remember doing anything to initiate the problem.  In fact, my wife and I were on our way to the zoo when I noticed the Droid boot theme for the third time in 15 minutes (the phone was randomly rebooting for several months, but only once or twice a week).

I called Verizon and after some tech support they said my phone needed to be replaced.  I didn't really buy that diagnosis since I could put the phone into that boot option screen indefinitely.  Anyway, I had an available phone upgrade at the time so I got a SIII.  I could really use this Bionic now, though, so I hope someone could help.

I know very little about the Android OS, but I will try to describe the state of the phone when the problem started.  When I first purchased the phone it had Gingerbread---5.9.902-- or something like that.  I rooted it, then eventually installed 6.7.246 ICS.  I can't really remember if I ever rooted it or not.  Anyway, since then I have tried to flash both ICS and JB via RSD (I doubt I'm using the right terminology).  No matter what I do, the phone automatically reboots itself after about 3 minutes.  If I go into the AP Fastboot or Boot Option menu it will not restart.  Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry meant to expand. They're is a known hardware problem that results in the random reboots. A less than likely problem is a battery issue. With the hardware issue the reason you don't get it in Fastboot is that the hardware in question has not been activated at that point.
