What is the best way to root the LG G2? I've seen several methods and they all look complicated. Also can I restore my apps and data with tibu coming from another phone? Thank you.

Thanks. How about my tibu question. Also, I've heard of people wiping their phone os and not being able to restore it. The razr was easy in this regard. Any thoughts?

You should consider doing Loki and flashing a recovery as well -

That way you can do a full backup and store it on your computer as well just for those cases.

 

Apps and data should be ok.

Again thanks. Which do you like better. Cwm or twrp. And I'm really only looking to improve battery life. Is there an init.d script to install or do I need to install a rom to do that. The razr was touted for that and it was good until jelly bean came along and then it became terrible and we needed roms to restore good battery life with in init.d scripts.

I personally like TWRP only because that is what SafeStrap was/is built from.  As for battery life, the G2 has amazing life just on stock without messing around for me.

In a command prompt navigated to your ADB folder.  Use the ADB instructions .

Since you've been so helpful I thought I would say that I've used SetCPU to get even better battery life without appreciably slowing down the phone using the settings. The phone has now gone from blast speed to fast speed

That's cool!  I am one of those that charges every night, so as long as my battery makes it all day without any issues regardless of they type of usage, I am content  I am sure there are others that would benefit by adjusting their speeds down a notch.

I just rooted 4.2.2 using ioroot 17. Easiest and fastest root I've ever done
