I have the regular razr and battery was almost totally drained after 7 hrs of very light use. As stated previously I did a reboot and put it on the charger. Time will tell.

Just use the 1.7 utility, wait did you flash the entire zip file or just the .214 img?

The screenshot you posted shows that most of your discharge is due to 'screen time'. If it was the OS it would show in the next bar down, titled "Android OS". Were you spending a lot of time watching a video maybe...?

I'm curious because my .214 seems to be doing very nicely on the battery.

I flashed the kernal last night and let it charge all night, then unplugged it to go to work. After 2 hours, maybe 10 texts and an address lookup on Google I was already down 20%. I'm gonna wipe everything and start anew and see if that changes

LOL.. I lose 1% every 3 minutes on my Maxx. No, I don't leave the screen on all that time. It's a calculated average. I was on Arctic 214; pretty sure it's not the ROM. However, since I could go 42+ hours on DualCore and Liquid previously, I'm going to experiment with those for a few days before going back to 211. I did notice my phone runs a lot warmer with 214.

Update: Now I'm confused... Was running Arctic 214, battery showed 84%... I then restored the DualCore nandroid, now it shows 97%.

Keep in mind that we are on a textbook path here:
  • Installed an update that seems to have made my phone much faster. (The update caused me to reboot the phone, which usually makes it faster for a while)
  • Battery is not as good after update. (I've been messing with my phone all day trying to see what the update did for me, and i've had the screen on way more than I usually would)
Lets give Matt & Co. time to examine this update and see what they find before we get too far in the weeds.

I installed .214 this morning on my stock Maxx, and my battery was at 80%. I played with the phone for a couple of hours now, and my battery only went down to 70%. I know it's only a small example, but my battery life appears to be much better than .211.

Mine appears to be the exact opposite. My phone is "cool" running .214, whereas it was borderline hot running .211.

I just did a full factory reset/cache wipe, and once I'm back up and running I'll charge to 100%, then see whatz up with the battery...

lol my battery lasted a whole 7 hrs in my pocket. Did a reboot and charging now. Will see how it goes.

Seems we all have an apparent issue, or something is just being misread within the system. I have setcpu set to 300/300 hotplug when screen is off. No matter what happens on my phone when the screen is off, it never pops up above 300mhz. The screen is off a majority of the time, but my battery too was dropping 1% every couple minutes. Matt didn't want to hear it :) So, if someone restores a previous backup, and has the battery reading differently, then maybe it's something to do with the build in 1% mod maybe? Just thinking out loud. What would make a battery read different on the same phone with a different system running?

Did this happen prior to 214 while it was on 211?

Did this happen prior to the built in 1%?

Are we on 3G or 4G?

Where do babies come from?

Battery (or the reading anyway) was very awesome with Arctic 211. It did not misbehave when I flashed the 1% mod. Like you, I'm just thinking out loud here. In no fashion am I blaming Arctic 214. I'll experiment with DualCore for a few more hours and see.
Thanks Matt for all you do.

Ok, this kernel definitely has a sticking issue. I'm on.211 stock ROM with.214 kernel. It hangs at 1200 most of the time. At 600 sometimes. The only fix is temporary, to reboot.
My theory is that it was doing this on.211 kernel too though. Its why i think our phones were overheating and draining the battery.

I installed .214 on top of OTA .211 about an hour ago with no issues.

My battery info tells me that kernel is responsible for more battery usage than any app I've been using.
