You have to go into the /system/etc/init.d/ directory with a root enabled explorer and add a line to activate the sio scheduler (located in /system/lib/modules) manually. They included the module, but didn`t put the line into their boot init`d script for it.

How did you get sio? My only scheduler options are noop, deadline, and cfq. I flashed the the two zips from XDA to get the interactiveX governor, but my scheduler still doesn't show sio. Not that I know what the difference is in the schedulers, anyway, LOL.

I used CPU Spy to view which states mine was in, and it was changing correctly. I also used SetCPU to set my phone to Hotplug and Noop as many users have indicated works well.

2 questions 1. You have to use custom rom on safe side of safestrap or you can do it on stock rom too? 2. You need to use SetCPU to do it or Rom Toolbox Lite or No-frills CPU Control will do job fine?

That worked. I added the line, rebooted to recovery and reflashed the init.d installer, and now I have all governor/scheduler options.

Thank you for the assistance.

No problem. Glad you got it sorted out.:D

Matt, youre a good guy keeping an eye on the cheesecake servers for the rest of us. Thank you. Personally, ive come to terms with the fact that the battery life is just not as good with ics than it is with GB, but my frustration thus far with ics has been the lag. this update seems to have mostly fixed this for me.

i installed the full update since i run stock rooted.

thanks again man!

So ive been running hotplug all day with no change to battery performance. I think i may just go back to 211, because i still want to try full throttle aokp.

Flashed the 214 kernel over top of my Arctic .211 which is on the safe side of my .209 base.
Didn't bootloop or have to fastboot or anything :)

Thanks Matt; good to be on the latest and greatest (even if I may or may not notice a difference)

Your kernel version should have a date of Jun 29th - that means it took

Just letting you know since you wanted updated. After running the interactiveX governor, using noop for the I/O Scheduler, and NOT USING MY PHONE FOR ANYTHING. I managed to squeeze 8 hours of life out of my phone.

My battery life is bad, but not quite that bad. Wtf is happening here? Some people claim as good or better (or decent) battery life with ics. I saw a tear down on iFixit that showed some components have changed in the razr since the first tear down they did. Different mfgs for a few parts. I wonder if that could have an effect? No way to know for sure though.

Badass battery monitor shows a huge amount of power drained by the kernel, but I don't have anything to compare it to since we can't revert back to GB.

Yeah and it's really weird that there is no middle section. It's either great battery life, or horrible battery life lol. Really really sucks.

That is weird. My wife has the OG RAZR on stock. 211 and she can get a full day out of hers with a few phone calls and text messages and taking pictures of our daughter. She doesn't surf the internet at all. She will occasionally stream music during the day.

She told me her battery isn't as good as it was on the 79 leak, but she's still getting much better battery life than you are.

What was your battery life like on 209? That was the best for me.

Really? I'm completely stock with lots of things syncing and without using WiFi I can leave my phone sitting for 12 hours easy. If I'm on WiFi I get closer to 16, 17. I'd imagine with setCPU for screen off, noop, interactiveX, juiceDefender, you could easily get 15-24 hrs...

Yeah I really don't get it man. A few other people are having the same issue, although not as bad as mine. Her is my latest. I managed to get 9 1/2 hours. As you can see, the absolute ONLY thing I used on my phone, was facebook and even then I only used it twice for about 2 minutes each time.

I'm getting just as bad as you are with my OG razr...I'm probably going to go back to .211 today. It seemed like the very first day on .211, my battery did wayyyy better than any other day since. As soon as I went to .214, my battery life is terrible, more or less on par with yours. I do some moderate usage, like fb'ing, calls, texts, but nothing spectacular like streaming videos....and I'm lucky to pull 6 hours without needing a re-charge...if I wasn't going to Korea in a couple months, I probably would have splurged on the maxx

Attempted update via moto recovery and utility, no go, still .211 Thur jun 14...any ideas?

Safestrap, running Eclipse 1.1

Don't look at the Build date information in your About Phone. Look at the Kernel version. It should say the following:

Kernel version
3.0.8-g39388c6
hudsoncm@il93lnxdroid84 #1
SMP PREEMPT Fri Jun 29 22:33:44 CDT 2012

I've attached a screenshot from my phone showing how the build date and System version show the information from .211 but the kernel version shows the information for .214.

I wonder if there is something keeping your processor from ramping down. Have you used cpu spy or anything to see what you processor is running at most of the time? Also have you tried hotplugX scheduler? I think it will turn off one cpu even with the screen on if the usage is low enough.

lbe privacy guard doesn't work for me on this kernel. anyone else have this issue? it starts fine and looks like it's running but the log shows no protection. clean install didn't fix and it didn't even request su permissions. reverted back to .211 and it works fine. anyone have a fix or a program i should use other than lbe? thanks!

I ran CPU Spy and even it is saying that 90% of the time my phone was on, it ran at 300mHz lol. Clocked all the way down, still draining battery life somehow. I'll try out the hotplugX governor but considering what I've already tried, I'll be surprised if I see good results lol. This is driving me insane.
