The website and apps are chinese only, but they are fairly simple to figure out. I took the liberty of decompiling the android apk and using Google Translate to roughly translate the android app to english (Link at the bottom of the post).

When you first sign up it gives you 5G to begin with, then if you install the software on your PC and log in you can claim 10TB, then if you install the app on your mobile (iOS or Android) and log in you can claim another 20TB. So basically you get 36TB permanent storage to begin with – that’s massive! Now for the unlimited storage, when you first sign up, you’re Level 3 user. Every time you use or just login to your account (PC software, mobile, web browsers, etc.) you earn points and you will advance a level. For each level you advance AFTER Level 25, you’re awarded another 10TB and it goes on. I think it will take a while to go from Level 3 to Level 26 but even with 36TB, it’s massive.

So if you’re interested, here’s how to get it: Max file upload size: 5GB

1. Go to

and click on the orange button in the center

3. Enter your email address, your password twice, and the captcha to register.

4. Once you’re in, Part one is to download the PC software to claim your 10TB. Click on the white square box with blue border in the middle to download. Once you download, install and login on your PC software, go back to

and click the orange button to claim.

Part two is to install the phone app and login. Go back to the website and click on the orange button to claim 26TB.

I tried on the Android version and I didn’t have to come back to click on the orange button. So you may or may not have to.

5. And you’re done. The last image just shows you once you get to Level 26 and above, you get additional 10TB for each level and so on…

Here’s the summary of the “Cloud Storage War in China”:
· Before all this, free storage services in China are mainly focused on capacity under 15GB.
· But on 8/13/2013, Kingsoft (03888.HK)announced that it has received $20 million investment. With this financing, Kingsoft Kuaipan, a service under Kingsoft offers 100GB free storage service to personal users.
· Then Qihoo 360 said they offer users 360GB
· Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU), the largest search engine in China, said: pay 1 RMB, you’ll get 1TB permanent space (1USD=6.1RMB)
· Then Qihoo said they’ll offer users extra 666GB on top of the 360GB, that’s more than 1TB
· Then Baidu said it offers 1TB free, and users who pays 1 RMB gets an extra 1TB
· Then Tencent joined the war and offers 10T. See my thread here.
· Then Qihoo calls itself the terminator to this war and said it offers users unlimited storage, free and permanent!
· Then Baidu changed it service to offer users the 2TB for free and will refund the 1RMB to users who paid.

Other competitors in the war include:
· Sina (NDSDAQ: SINA), famous for its Twitter like service called “Weibo”, said it offers 100GB and if you share one file to the public, you’ll get the same size of free permanent space (They called it “unlimited”)
· 115.com (just an ordinary cloud storage company) offers 15GB to new users and all users get 1TB every year, increasing to unlimited size.

For those concerned with security:

Qihoo is a reputable chinese company that makes very popular anti-virus software which you can find in the Android market by searching "Qihu 360". All uploaded files are encrypted using your accounts password, and not even the employees of Qihoo have access to your files.

Guys, there is no malware in these files. Qihoo specializes in making Chinese and International anti-virus software.

It provides the comprehensive internet protection with triple virus detection engine - QVM engine, Bitdefender engine and cloud engine - and protects users against the latest security threats.

It is thought that this has caused some confusion on behalf of users trackers and market shares of browsers in China, as Qihoo's browser can appear to be either Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari or Mozilla, instead of the 360 Browsers.

360 Mobile Assistant - A Mobile application store enables users to download, install and manage Android apps from their PC.

360 Personal Start-up Page - The default homepage of 360 Safe Browser, it is a key access point to popular Internet services and applications, had 91 million daily users and generated 450 million average daily clicks in the fourth quarter of 2012."

Ive installed and used both the PC apps, although I prefer the file manager over the dropbox style app. And I have the apk I translated installed on my phone. Nothing unusual going on, no pop ups from Avast! on Android or BitDefender on my PC.

Chinese websites are not immune to infection, even if yhey make security software. I assumed it was just a false positive since there was only one AV program that called it a trojan. Glad to have confirmation from you that you haven't seen anything unusual.

I wish I could. Ive found a few things that can be translated with the file manager style app, but the majority is built into the source code. The language.ini file in the install directory can be translated to english which will translate the majority of the right click context menu, the category names at the top, and the context menu when you click your email address in the upper left corner.

I can upload that at some point if you want that. I dont use the dropbox style app so I dont know what translations can be done with that one.

Well guys, I have to work on the desktop apps as I reinstalled it and lost my file that had it done.

As for the Android app, I decompiled it and translated the new strings. Recompiled it and resigned it and it turns out someone at Qihoo must have found out what I did and a DRM check for the apps signature was coded into the apps source code somewhere. Im okay with smali but not that great at it. I kind of narrowed it down to something to do with SplashyActivity.smali but thats as far as I have gotten.

So unless someone else wants to try and take a stab at disabling/removing the DRM from the smali I think we'll just have to stick with 3.3.6 or 3.3.7 or whatever the version I posted was. If it stops working though we'll just have to go back to the official chinese app.
