I've also experienced the phone app not wanting to work and is very glitchy and won't let me make calls occasionally. Sometimes it freezes up my while phone and I just have to wait until it catches up to do anything.
Still on build 2.

I'm using TWRP and I get an error every time I try to either flash this or CM 11 unofficial. Don't know what to do. Going to try to switch to CWM.

ya the only time it happen to me was when i mounted system prior to flashing.. dont mount system the rom script will do it its self.

regarding the ability to copy files to the external_sd card via root explorer, what permissions are currently shown for that drive for anyone that has it working?  again, I cannot copy/move files to the external_sd via root explorer (but I can delete/rename files that are already in there).

I can copy files when using ROM toolbox.... but since I have my TiBu folder set to the external_sd card, I cannot backup apps/settings via that app.

I have tried unmounting/removing & reinstalling the sd card, and I have tried clearing data/cache/updating the root explorer app.  I don't think I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it (got it from amazon app store), so I'll try that next.  but that still does not solve my problem for TiBu not being able to write to the external_sd card.

buuuuuuuuuuuuut, this is the only issue, and this ROM (first build) is still running strong for me.

regarding battery performance with google now on, I got much less battery life - so I'll probably just leave it off, as I rarely use it.

You need to make sure that the filesystem "/" is RW. Since android isn't mounting the sdcard where it supposed to go, the sd card appears as a sub directory of /mnt/ and gets all of the same permissions.

I can't seem to get camera working on the 11/13 build. Going to try what someone previously posted for the version that they had camera working. I followed the steps for flashing and wiped more than what was recommended. Not sure why I can't get the camera app to show or get 3rd party applications to find the camera. Are there any other suggestions for getting it to work on the latest build?

I also want to give a great big thanks to all the hard work that goes into these builds that keep our devices feeling like new! Thanks everyone!

I remember back when I first rooted and got cm10 on safestrap. I thought that was so cool, and when 4.2 became available, I was so excited to have it that I put up with not having a camera for quite a while. Then pac man got ported to this phone and the camera worked on that build and it ran so smooth with a ton of features. Then I used a ton of other 4.2.2 roms. Then 4.3 came out and got ported over so fast. What was amazing was all of the features. After using active display, I can see why everybody loves the moto x. And now we have 4.4 running smoothly on a phone that got left on 4.1.2. Thank you, everybody who had anything to do with getting so many roms to the razr m. We have gotten so many more roms than any other mid end phone.

just wanted to share with  you guys... that if you running this and like to have pie control.. you can do this using 3rd party applications.. in a rather simple way. i mean until  other mods show up natively in rom... i achieved this by using PimpMyROM.apk found at the play store and LMT launcher from XDA.. there might be an easier way to do this... im sure. there might even be a flash.zip for this but this is what i got and i can share with.

Install Busybox

Install Pimp My Rom

Install LMT launcher

  • once you do that, open Pimp My Rom and in tool tab click on Universal Init.d support
  • Turn ON Init.d support
  • Navigate few tabs to the right and find NAVIGATION BAR
  • in there you will see that Navigation bar is DISABLED click on it and enable it. (this will create an init.d file) Reboot phone
  • I know you will notice no changes took place. go back into Pimp My Rom and navigate to NAVIGATION BAR
  • Now in there you will see that Navigation bar is Enabled click on it to Disable it (this will modify the init.d file you created earlier) Reboot phone
  • Now you wont have Navigation bar. go into the app drawer and start LMT Launcher and set it to autostart on boot and configure it as you like

Im sure you could just add the modified init.d file and dont have to do all the steps but im not an init.d expert so its the way i got it to work. Pimp My ROM also has other featured you can explore on your own. I for example use it to fix lag in sdcard reading among other things.

After flashing this my phone would not pick up 4G so I restored from a full backup and still can't get it to stick now. Am I the only one that has had this happen?

I had no problem going back to my 4.2 rom... 4G works fine... Have you tried the new radio?

You may want to full wipe and flash back to stock completely.... I would Motochop it. (Utility Tool).

for those that are not able to restore prior builds, are you sure you are using the latest TWRP as stated in OP?  as I did not have any issues restoring 4.1.2 Clean after flashing this.

regarding no camera, try going into the list of apps, and clearing the cache for the camera app.

Let me just say, this is awesome. I downloaded the 4.4 stuff and was using the launcher, velvet.apk, and google keyboard 2 on 4.3, and aesthetically, it looked very kit-kat. still great to have the real thing. The thing I am worried about is with having the constant "ok google" listening, without a dedicated, low clocked core, like moto x, or droid ultra, I'm afraid it will drain batt quickly, but as Android super users, we have to do something ourselves sometimes, install greenify, install One Power guard. change your kernel setting, govs, and i/o. Battery life is going to be rough, I'd say. Do the things you can to help. also, I'd love a cm11 beta.

I'm pretty sure the Ok Google feature only works if you use the stock homescreen. Doesn't work for me from within other apps.

Yeah and the new google now with "ok google" only listens when the screen is on unlike the Moto X which listens all the time.

Comparatively, the dragon app does listen when the screen is off. It works great, just a big battery drainer.
