How to get back to stock for OTA

Best Answer Hollywood67 , 05 November 2013 - 06:36 PM

I should've known to wipe davlik and cache before starting this journey. As always, I learn... I wasn't able to load the superuserSU pro version a few days ago. Just kept going through the 'root de la vega' to try and isolate what was breaking root. Did a factory data reset and started the process over again. Now successfully on 4.3 retained root and all.

Thanks so much for sticking with me through this!!

What is it telling you when you open SuperSU? How do you know it is breaking root?

If it truly is breaking root the only other thing I could suggest is doing a factory wipe in the stock recovery, then flash in ODIN and root to see if it holds. You will lose everything on your phone though. Wouldn't hurt to flash dalvik and cache while in there as well. That's the only other thing I know to do.

Before that. Have you bought the Pro version of SuperSU? That could be causing it if you are on the free version. Something tells me you have to be on the Pro version. If you are and still breaking root, try the wipe route.

That's what we're here for.. We all make mistakes, but we all learn. You just kept your cool and took 2 days to do it, but you didn't brick and you obtained your goal. You're 4.3 with root. Glad we could get you there. I was trying to keep wiping to the last resort and I guess it was our last resort lol.
