thanks for the love but the one thing i dont like is people ____ing with my thread. i edit each line in the OP so it displays normal on tapatalk and now it is all run together. Please dont touch my op. thanks!!

Heard some good things about this. Just installed 215 so since i'm fresh i'm going to give it a try.

I've tried all the other roms,but I keep coming back to black widow! Everything looks awesome and runs even better! Thanks again andlaw, you do some damn fine work! The new red theme by DSGmach1 is icing on the cake, now my red Pandora unlimited and red themed beautiful widgets match the rest!

So far so good on this rom. Running good no issues that i've noticed. Here's some screens.

For some reason i just have immense problems getting this rom on my phone.
I'm not new to flashing android on a phone (SGS1) but apparently a n00b for the Razr Maxx.
I've bricked and fixed my phone a number of times already.
Fixed it by using RSD Lite and flashing VRZ_XT912_6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31_1FF.xml.zip on it so it turns back to stock.

The steps I do after re-activating the phone from scratch are:

01. Turn on debugging mode
02. Through Droid Razr Utility 1.8 Root the phone
03. Through Droid Razr Utility 1.8 Install Safestrap recovery
04. Start the Safestrap app and install
05. Power off phone and press menu key to get into safeboot
06. Enable safe system
07. Wipe data/factory reset
08. Wipe Cache
09. Wipe Dalvik Cache
10. Format /system
11. Install zip from sd card => chose zip from sdcard => external sd card => BlackWIDOW_ICS-FULL.zip
12. Install from sd card is done in 62 seconds (shouldn't it take longer?)
13. Go back => Reboot System => Safe system screen appears => do nothing => Blank black screen.......

What am I missing here?

download the ROM in the OP, not sure how old the ROM your trying to flash is but it is definitely not the correct zip. everything else looks like you did it right.. and I'm not near my computer to see what system version your loading through RSD but if it is 211-215 you should have no problems flashing and getting the ROM to run.

heh glad u got it working! and might I ask where did you get the last zip from? the one that you couldn't flash!?


**edit* always download and flash the rom found from my OP to ensure you are flashing a legit, up-to-date ROM. other sources are still hosting older rom files that are not compatible on this system..

can't seem to find it right now, but I'll let you know once I do.
i was hoping to put in a different sim card by flashing a custom rom on it, guess it didn't solve the problem, oh well

Did have an issue with the browser not opening up. Force closed it and got it to open but after i exited it wouldn't open again. I switched it with the one from arctic don't know if anybody else has had the problem,just figured i'd let you know.

hmmm.. ... I have no clue why only the browser would fc.. clear the data to the app if stuff like that ever happens and it should clear things up. still not sure why it would have fc, and only it lol... what were you doing on the browser when it force closed?

I was just trying to open the browser and it didn't force close I had to go in and force close it to get it to open. It's no big deal lol the ROM is awesome just didn't know if anybody else had it happen.

Surprised there isn't more talk about this rom, thing is smooth and fast without any issues. Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the hard work andlaw.

Only issue I have is when I have my phone hooked up to my computer via USB and it goes to 100% charged, when I unplug it, the battery is stuck at 100% even though voltage drops as normal. I have to reboot to get the battery stats to read correctly.

No big deal though

Hey just curious andlaw is it worth it for you to upgrade the ROM to a 215 base or does it not make a diff as long as we have 215 stock in not safe system (which obviously includes kernel and radio)
