Google now technically is not compatible with ICS builds which is why you received that message. It was made and released with JB but folks in the community figured out how to get it to work on ICS. Until the latest version has been modified for use on ICS you're kinda stuck with where it is now.

Cool thanks for that info.....

I’m really enjoying this ROM, everything is working great. The calendar really looks good with the dark background (inverted, I guess), but I have a difficult time reading it. Is there any way that I can swap out the installed Google calendar with an unmodified original Google calendar? If so how would I delete the installed calendar, and where would I find an unmodified Google calendar? I’m new to this stuff, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

+1 on needing a stock (or AOSP preferably) non-inverted calendar. Everyday, I use the calendar extensively and with the current inversion and transparencies, the app is hard to read and the widget is a complete mess of unreadable black and dark grays. If the grays were whites then the app (and CERTAINLY the widget) would be much much more readable.

Otherwise, the ROM is great. But please consider posting some information how the calendar (and others perhaps) app(s) can be reverted to a stock theme in the 1st or 2nd post of the thread. I know I would really appreciate it and it would seem others would as well.

Thanks!

Replace apk in /system/app. White background, no transparency.

EmericanX
And I have question again :)
In /system/etc/init.d there is 96sonic script. Are you sure that it's script works? Because it uses Bash, but we have only Sh. And then I changed bash to sh the only settings from this script, that work, is setting min and max cpu frequency and setting governor. Over not work, it says "There is no file or directory"

Thanks, that helps a LOT. I didn't realize just how bad the readability on the inverted calendar was until I went back to the standard calendar.

One question. SimpleX includes v4.0.4 of the calendar. This link is for v4.0.3. I'm not sure what the differences are or if they matter, just pointing it out in case people need to know.

ICS doesn't support Flash from what I've read... I think some folks use Chrome and it works maybe?

It can be side loaded... as in finding the apk somewhere then installing. But I'm pretty sure you have to use the aosp browser due to it supporting plugins...

of course you can get flash from the market. Go to my apps in the market; then push the page to the left which will bring up all of the apps you have ever downloaded. Now scroll down until flash player shows up.Then download. This is the latest version which supports ICS. By the way, the ICS browser + will give you trouble free flash browser support with no browser control freezing as is the stock browser or quick ics browser. Both of these tend to malfunction after a flash video is played and have to be force stopped under applications to unfreeze them.

I'm not 100% sure right now to be honest with you. Im working on a couple different projects right now that I put on the back burner to do the last update of Simplex. Not to mention I'm dealing with a little bit of drama at the home front right now! I'll just say I'm gonna have to buy a new living room suit in the very near future. Lol

That Facebook picture sync I've had trouble on all roms. I just use this:

I've never had a problem with getting that to sync

Edit: Should have added that that's a link to a sync app on the Play Store

Your welcome. If you value flash, stay on ICS. Don't upgrade to JB if and when we ever get it.

FYI regarding the calendar, Google just released the calendar app as a standalone app available in the play store.
