Can I use DroidRzrUtility to flash to the later (test) Kernel from 211 and retain THIS mod or will that bounce me back to stock ??

If you use the utility to go back to .211 you will lose root plus the rom, you will be completely stock.Question?

Not sure what you mean. I was/am already on the .211 system according to settings and was asking if I could somehow upgrade to the .214 or whatever the latest is. The version of DroidRzrUtility I have says (test) .214 I believe. My question is what happens if I select to do this. Does it wipe out the system of the ROM and revert it to stock OR does it just address/flash to a new kernel or whatever. ??
Nevermind, per the new DroidRzrUtility thread I found this:
Removed: Bootstrap, Leaked 214 kernel, webtop restore partition (no ICS webtop mods so pointless to restore, and took 1.3 GB unextracted space.)
So this was obviously of no use anyhow.
---Now I have to dig up where someone mentioned about .211 vs .215 or whatever, It has my interest sparked.

You lost me with "Here's a few"?
And could I then restore a Nandroid of this Rom to get back to my current state but have the newer system kernel?

Yes. There's a thread somewhere in the mod section that explains how to get 215 on your device. Then once there you can root install safestrap and restore backup once you're on safe side.

Hey absolutely loving this release and glad to see emericanx back in the game
One request if someone could help me out. Can someone make a flashable zip to revert Google now back to the old ICS search app? I feel that I don't need Google Now ATM and the search app on ICS is much faster
Thanks!!!!

I wasn't "out of the game"... just no laptop to work on lol. Good to hear you're enjoying the latest release!
As far as GNow.. the easiest way is to just delete the Velvet.apk from /system/app... then search for Google search in the play store

I'm assuming what you're trying to accomplish is running Simplex after updating to the latest leaked kernel.. as stated previously there are instructions on the forum on how to get to the latest leak. You will have to fast boot(Matt's utility) to a fresh 211 install then precede from there. I have never updated past 211 because I personally never seen any reports of changes to make it worth it. However I have gotten plenty of feedback from folks running Simplex on the various moto builds. So yes, if you go through the process of updating to 215 you should be able to flash Simplex over it.

As you may have noticed I have taken a MOD position on the forum. DroidRZR is the forum I call my home away from home so I wanted to pitch in and help out. I'm looking forward to carrying out duties around the forum as I feel I've done in my own threads.
The other thing I wanted to make sure you'll know about in advance is that I have started a JB build off of DHackers and Hashcodes AOSP source. You will not see a CM or AOKP build from me. I'm starting with an AOSP base and merging in options I feel carry on the Simplex name. As you'll know source based ROMs will have issues for now but I wanted to start developing on the source side of things again so Simple Beans came to life! Only 2 people have run the initial build. SparkyMan and myself and I can tell you there are issues to be worked out.. but battery life is already impressive! When I checked it earlier I was off the charger for 11 hours and still had 80%! This is without any initial tweaking.. so needless to say it looks promising.
With that said with safe strap 3 on the horizon you will not be able to use Simplex1.3 on it!!! I am warning you in advance. However I will update Simplex accordingly to work with the new Safe strap when the time comes for those that wish to stay on a blur based ROM.
Again I would like to thank everyone for the feedback! I try to thank every donator personally but needless to say life has been busy.. so in case I missed any of you.. Thanks to everyone that has donated! Last but not least... a huge thanks to everyone that chips in and helps others while I'm busy... keep it up!

i did this and it worked, however the Google Search package couldn't be found in the play store so i extracted it from the 1.2 version of this rom and install it that way.

Yes, exactly. Although now seeing the process, I don't know if it's worth it really. I mean I'm not having any signal issues nor battery to complain of. Just that feeling of missing out on the "latest and greatest" I guess, however, the thoughts of having to flash back to stock then the test kernel, then re-do Simplex from scratch (even with the help of TIBU.. because wouldn't restoring a Nandroid defeat the whole process at this point?) - I dunno, I'll probably let this idea die out.
Thanks though
