Wtf hahaha.

Also I just want to say my SMS seems to be crippled after deleting that file. I was texting my friend and he told me all my texts were coming at once like a delayed reaction or something.

Edit: Do NOT remove this file on SimplexROM! Data gets buggy and SMS stops working!

Correct. Lost my data completely... Had to reload whole phone! Lol!

Yeah I was at at pizza place (lol) when I did it and my signal dropped to 1-2 bars, always got 4 bars of 4G there so I was like 'yeah something's up.' Hopefully Matt adds it to the OP of the post.

There is a script located in ~/system/bin/ entitled 'bugtogo.sh' that does a long of things to our device we do NOT want them doing. I higher suggest anyone running 215 or a ROM based off of 215 such as Arctic, Simplex (not sure if its stuck in there), use a Root file manager like Root Explorer to delete this script.

UPDATE: If you are a Bionic user check for this as well! Users report seeing it on 232 at the least. Also ANYONE on an ICS stock rom or 214 or even should check too.

The contents of the file can be found here:

Here are some tidbits...

# Forward info to the Bug2Go app
b2gam "start -a motorola.intent.action.BUG2GOLITE.END -t application/gzip
-e path $storagePath/bugreport_$timestamp.txt.gz
-e serial $serialNum
-e timestamp $timestamp
-e ap_version $apVersion
-e bp_version $bpVersion
-e product $product
-e device $device
-e build_type $buildType"

#Save the report info into a temporary file so that the APK can create
#report with the info in the file at any time it detects this file. The
#APK should remove this file once it creates a report for it.
#Parameters:
#save_path : the directory where to save the compressed log files
#files : the log files that should be included into this report, can be
# directories. separated by space if there are 2 or more files
#files_to_remove : the files that should be removed after the report is
# created, can be directories, separated by space if there are 2
# or more files

#put the attachments in a separated folder so that Bug2Go can handle it separately.
attachmentPath="$storagePath/screenshots"
b2glog d "Attachment path: $attachmentPath"
mkdirIfNotExist $attachmentPath
#capture the current screenshot
b2gscreencap "-p $attachmentPath/screenshot-$timestamp.png"
#Start the Bug2Go App
b2gam "start -a motorola.intent.action.BUG2GO.START -t text/plain -e id $timestamp"

If you do not want to be an unwilling bug tester for Motorola then remove this from your device. I am making sure any future releases of ROMs I am involved with will now not ship with this script. Please take care of yourselves!

Can we just delete this file without it affecting anything else or do we have to do something else? Sorry, new to all this

Have you ever had bootstrap installed? The 2 don't get along & just uninstalling the bootstrap apk doesn't fully get rid of it. There's a thread on here about completely removing bootstrap. Here's a link:

I rebooted too and it seemed to work but my texts were going through extremely delayed, up to 20 minutes, and my signal was slashed. Idk though cause Wyld on the other post had no problems.

I sent my friend a text who was right next to me and it went through instantly. But my texts to a friend 40 minutes away were delayed a lot. My signal didn't drop but it was weaker.

So far nothing going wrong for the worse or better. Sent a few texts ppl reply as normal. Made a few calls and used web browser and TapaTalk. Signal is not worse or better. All the same as it was before. After deleting that bugtogo file.

For anyone that does delete/rename the file: could you include what rom(base)/kernel/radio you're on? Some of the later leaks updated lte as well as kernel & I wonder if there's some dependencies that exist there that aren't in the ota.
Also, if you are noticing issues, are you on 3g or 4g?
I renamed the file, rebooted & have no issues, but I'm in a 3g only area. Also, running the 215 kernel with Simplex 1.2.

I'm on .215 as well but my area always had a full bar 4G and 3G. When I removed the file I went down to 0-2 bars both, then I reflashed ROM and got my signal back. So the file was the cause for me but other people seem to have no problems.

I'm using Simple and running the original kernel from 211. I have no issues with either 3 or 4G. I've made phone calls and sent/received texts.

I just renamed the extension.

I am on the .215 kernel and I renamed the file ext. to .bak and no problems so far. I deleted the bug report also.
