Oh and to recap... I do not want any flaming in my threads! If you do not have something helpful to say... keep it to yourself! That seems to be the trend thus far in the thread but since the word "flaming" was mentioned i felt i should make that clear! We all have questions from time to time and sometimes the answer is hard to find out of 100's of post. Help each other! Don't be a tool....

Help uninstalling Simplexrom...

I have it and love it but I have a friend that wants to swap for a couple of weeks as a test...my RAZR for his Galaxy Nexus. I have on the external sdcard the /Blur_Version.6.12.181.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip . In Safestrap I wiped data and cache and then tried to Apply Update from .zip file on SD and chose the blur file but once it starts installing update...I get E:Error in /sdcard/blur....(Status 6)... Installation aborted. Any ideas on how to get back to Factory stock? I will be unrooting as well (hopefully)

Thanks in advance!

Brent

If you flashed with safestrap (like the op directed) then you should be able to just swap back to the non safe side of safestrap and be back on the regular Moto blur ICS. If you didn't use safestrap, then yes, like it's been said, you need RSD, Matt's utility or good old school fastboot flash *.*

That I'm gonna have to guess is a faulty download. Try to download again and go another round.

Redownload, put on sd and try again. Sounds like corrupted file.

It's Google Now. I've noticed a 5-10% increase in battery use over the course of my work day since installing Google Now.

Yea I posted about Google now in these forums and i feel bad because it wastes a ton of battery throughout the day.

I can't take credit if it works. Credit should go to jibroney who was kind enough to help me out. Below is his original response when I asked for help.

Try switching kernel governors. I was having that same issue on the Eclipse rom with interactiveX governor, changed governors and the issue went away. I would suggest running a non X governor. Hotplug has worked well for me under both the Simplex and Eclipse roms.

Are you underclocking? Setting a sleep profile with the min cpu clock speed set under 300mhz might cause the same issue. If you are running cpu sleeper (or whatever its called) I would disable that.

It's a battery hog, to be sure, but I do love it, so it stays.

Over at xda there was another zip you could flash that removes google now and puts back normal google search. It should be in same op for google now in xda thread if im not mistaken.

I turned off google now because the best part to me is the new search. My cards were never useful anyway, except for the weather. I am hoping this helps but I am not sure yet...I LOVE the way the new search does, and how useful it can be, plus it looks pretty. lol. Has anyone else turned it off to use only the search function, and if so..did it help the battery?

Didn't seem to work. Oh well, 1.2 ghz is fast enough to keep this smooth

I don't think this is rom related but does anyone else's RAZR switch between 4g and 3g repeatedly throughout the day? Mine is getting out of control lately. I'm considering a replacement. My headphone Jack is also acting up. This is my second RAZR already due to a faulty headphone Jack.

I was going to say it was something more than that because I did download it twice, but then I realize that I have 2 zips, and just tried to flash the same one multiple times... *facepalm*

On another note... Is there anyway to get a flashlight on the toggle? and I thought this had the AOSP dialer? I very certainly have the blur dialer. Is there another version or an install to get the AOSP dialer?

Thank you and so far the rom is awesome. Love it as much as I loved liberty3 2.0 on my droid X! (which is saying a lot lol)

You might want to check if you have any lint inside of it. I had a similar issue and all it took was for me to use a toothpick and remove lint stuck on the bottom- try it.
