So I fixed the Email and Calendar problem by using the flashable zips found here:

For the Gmail I deleted the Gmail.apk file in system/app as well as a file starting with com. something something gmail (I forget the full file name). Restarted the phone. Took Gmail.apk from eclipse put in sd card then moved it to system/app. Fixed the permissions and rebooted phone.

Google Voice installed just fine after pulling the apk from eclipse rom.

Walla inverted GAPPS!

Everything works great and it's all thanks to your wonderful ROM. Anybody that's on the fence I can say this ROM works better than my Eclipse 1.2 did.

You'd have to talk to Emerican about that. It's his ROM and all I did was personalize it a bit to my liking.

KIDDING!! Geez, tough crowd! Bring it on, E!! I love the transparent status bar and the new font! Just a quick suggestion, and I've seen this on some other custom ROMs, but when I have my WiFi on, the WiFi, 4G, and Signal bars all seem scrunched together...anyway to space them out a bit? Just thought I would ask while you were doing some visual tweaks to the status bar.

Using Faster GPS from the market will accomplish the same tweaks without needing to manually edit anything.

Rocking Simplexrom 1.2! EmericanX, you've pulled it off once again! I am loving this new ROM. I am rocking my phone at 1.35GHz. I've haven't had any glitches whatsoever. It's extremely responsive. Awesome build. Thanks for sharing!

Gps lock times went from about a minute to less than 5 seconds.

I got 4 hour screen time. This also includes flashing the minor update and two battery mods all on one charge. I only used 4G today. Hopefully second day will be better.

EmericanX, after bouncing through about every ROM available and ending up back here with the new 1.2, I'm feeling at home. Exactly my kind of ROM. The ONLY thing I would be interested in modifying would be inverted gapps+voice, and having that built in would in my opinion be against the design concept of this ROM so I can't complain. Thanks for the incredible ROM!

Do you intend to build something similar once we have a trimmed/tweaked custom kernel available? I'm worried we will see a death of people caring about Webtop/Docking support and switch to building only for CM9/AOKP once the kernels start rolling out.

First. I'm intending to do some theme work now. Staying with the ics blue but doing some inversion with transparency. This will however be a flashable mod on top of the rom due to signature issues should the app attempt to update through the play store. Its for that reason alone I typically stray away from any app that is available in the market. But as long as its a separate mod and folks are aware of the issue. Its their choice.

Second. Lets try to not get ahead of ourselves here. There is still work to be done as far as the custom kernels go! So we currently don't know what's going to happen with it. I will be doing a build for it... most likely. But that doesn't mean I will be dropping support for my current work.

Honestly what I would like to see is the implementation of a webtop scenario on CM9! I would've dug into this already but lack of any sort of dock proves as sort of a hurdle! Lol
