Can anyone tell me how to replace the included inverted Gmail app with the one from the Play Store? It won't let me install from Play, and when I got all clever and uninstalled Gmail using Titanium Backup first, I still couldn't install from market, and now have no Gmail app left. Ouch!

I find the inverted apps hard to read, but really want to use this ROM because I like the blur camera while having everything else be AOSP. Installed Simplex this afternoon, and so far had a lot of battery drain and its been running pretty slow (compared to stock and to KOA CM9), but I imagine I need to let it settle in for a bit and rebuild cache first.

One way would be to download a zip with the gapps from somewhere like goo.im servers. Then extract the Gmail apk and push it to system/app. You should then be able to update it from the store. I think I snagged mine from another ROM that didn't feature inverted apps.

As far as battery drain, I haven't noticed any drain when compared to stock. Do like you said and give a couple days to settle.

Absolutely LOVE the ROM. It's my daily driver and I don't see ANYTHING that would change that. This thing is STABLE and SLEEK!

However, I was wondering if it was possible for someone to port over PDroid (

I would have to look at the links you posted before I can comment on porting or not. It looks to be a data control app? I can see where that would come in handy for folks not on unlimited! I would love to provide the razr community with access to this...

I haven't given up on the fix quite yet... just haven't found the root cause. I'm seeing that most of the time the controls work if you press just above them... very odd since I made no changes to anything that should cause this.

Thanks for looking into it. It's a data monitoring app, yes, but it's also a permissions control app - allows you to prevent app access to GPS, IMEI, SMS, contacts etc (basically giving you the option of downloading an app that typically requires questionable permissions without having to actually allow the app access to individual permissions). It's similar to LBE Privacy Guard but a better option for a number of reasons.

I have the same problem. It may be a 'just off' issue where I must simply press above the controls. Buttons seem to inconsistently activate at times, too, though. My thumbs could be oddly-shaped :-)

Anyone having data issues in this ROM? I don't know if it's the ROM or some other issue but often times I have no data. Seems to happen randomly with no clear cause.

A couple of issues that I would be grateful to have help with:

1. I've noticed one issue: Google+ won't instant upload photos for me on Simplex. Under Accounts and Sync, the Google account does not have the Google+ sync option (it does have Google Photos, not sure what that is). Any tips?

2. GPS is noticeably slower to get a fix than other ROMS -- often takes a minute or two, while on CM9 and stock, it took just a few seconds. Are there any known scripts / tweaks I can flash to improve GPS performance? I noticed that in some ROMS, the authors state that they have made GPS speed tweaks, but with not much description of what or how.

Oh, another thing that probably isn't a bug, but a missing feature. In the notification power toggles, in most implementations, one can long press to go to the corresponding setting menu. (e.g. long press on the bluetooth toggle to go to the list of bluetooth devices). But that doesn't happen here. Just checking that there isn't a setting I can change to make this happen. If not, it would be great to see this in the next version, if it isn't too much work. Thanks!

on this rom you have to use safe strap 2.0 so does that mean i need to have safe system active or keep not active
