Hey guys, finally figured out how to root my new Verizon S4 Dev Edition (i545). I used the Odin back to a pre-release kernel, motochopper and then Odin back to MDK. I have root and everything seems to be working great...except. Since rooting I keep getting a warning "The device has detected an application attempting unpermitted actions" I get an exclamation mark (warning) with a prompt to reboot or reboot later. Any ideas what the issue is?

You unfortunately lost your dev edition kernal rooting with that method unless you extracted the kernal directly from your phone. They are different.
To remove the warning -
Using a root explorer file manager like ES mount SYSTEM as WRITABLE.
Go to: /data/data/ look for com.sec.knox.seandroid and rename it to 000.knox.seandroid or whathever. Do the same with com.sec.knox.store
Go to: /system/app/ and delete- KNOXAgent.apk, KNOXAgent.odex, KNOXStore.apk, KNOXStore.odex -- or you can put a .BAK at the end of each filename to avoid re-population.

And with the Dev Edition all you need to do in order to achieve root is to first flash a custom recovery, like Philz Touch Recovery, through ODIN and then flash the Superuser.zip

Thanks for the help. Can I just use Odin to replace the kernal...assuming I can find a dev kernel?

Thanks, I didn't know Philz Touch Recovery was one that was working without the same issues that other recovery options we presenting. I appreciate the info.

Yep, Philz Touch 5 works like a charm. Finally have backup.
