Option 2 seems to require that you already have .211 on your SD card. I don't have this, and I don't know how to get it there with a bricked phone.... is there a way?

It sounds like you're suggesting doing a wipe in stock recovery and then running option 2, is that right? Again, I think I would still need to have .211 on my SD card.

I've read trough the thread and haven't seen anything related to this. Thanks though for the response.

Do you have a sd card reader(adapter)?

Would anyone know why when I restored a few settings back to default (dalvikvm heap from 60 to 28, lcd density from 190 to 240, wifi from 200 to 45, and proximity delay from 100 to 450) and rebooted the phone, it bootlooped on the eye.

The reason why I was restoring them back to default is I forgot to make a backup of my build.prop, and when changing things back before I got the ICS update OTA, this never happened.

Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of something similar happening? Thanks :D

Yes it's named as the version you're coming FROM, not the version you're going TO.

Naive question but number 3 is for rooting 4.0.4 - 6.16.211 OTA that was released yesterday, right?

First of all I tried to upgrade from phone but it failed three times. So I dowmloaded 1.7 and followed instructions (I thought) and selected op 1 and everything wa going good and all of a sudden the phone reboots into gengerbread with everything gone - the messege comes up to press the green man to get started. So I did and filled out the new phone. Then I got to thinking of trying the update again - went right through. My question- onMatts utility is there an option to install ICS? Had a lot of work to do, but I got every thing back - reinstalled apps ect. You know - I was happy with gengerbread - why did I want ICS?

1.7 is the utility to install ICS from GB. Worked fine for me and many others. The only "downfall" is it wiped all data but was a small price to pay for getting it early.

Thanks Mattlgroff for this great tool, but i have a question plz.
I have read "on xda-developers.com" that this tool requires System Version "6.12.181.XT912.Verizon.en.US", i have Motorola Razr XT910 and the System Version "65.1.40.XT910.MERetail.en.06" and the Build number "6.5.1-167-SDP-IRD-40", does this tool work with my phone? and if not, what i can do to update to ICS??

Thanks in advanced,
