With the goal of restoring to 181 while using Utility 1.6 (option 1) on Eclipse 3.2 I've hit a snag
here are a number of error messages indicating files that the utility is unable to load
files\logo.bin
files\cdrom
Then there is an error message indicating "status read failed <too many open files in system>
When this happens and I power down, then power back up, AP Fastboot indicates
AP Flashboot Flash Mode(S)Flash failure
I powered back up again in Fastboot mode and the same thing happened.
Suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, ALL of the leaks MUST be installed FROM devices with .181 on them.

Hey Matt, thanks in advance for your dev work for the RAZR as well as the wonderful Dan Rosenberg (what an android beast), I was wondering (and reading the batch job) how come we have to "prep" a stock non-rooted .181 device with option 1 before sideloading the update. Is this .211 leak not like the update.zip that I'm familiar with on my older motorola phones? I just got my phone last weekend so I'm tempted to wait so that I don't accidentally screw anything up or take me off the update path. Do we know of anyone who has downloaded an update.zip via the soaktest yet?
If you are truly bone-stock you do not "need" the prep. But in the script Matt flashes the ICS recovery image which has proven to be more dependable when flashing ICS leaks from the sdcard instead of the /cache folder that the official OTA will be flashed from.

Matt - maybe you should put in big bold text "unzip the utility file before running". seems this gets asked waaay too much...

E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Would someone please post how to do it in here. Chat is blocked where I'm at right now. I've ran it three times and even reinstalled 181 from 1.6 Utility and then went back again and did 1.7 option 1, then boot into Moto Recovery and flash the update, no dice.

I am dead in the water with a flash failure after attempting option 1 in Utility 1.6 on a GB phone running Eclipse.
Can't access the SD card (computer doesn't see the Razr) and wasn't sure if I would make things worse trying option in in 1.7.
On the road 400 miles from home with no phone is not good!

E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip

If option 1 is the same in 1.6 and 1.7 (i don't have 1.7 in front of me) than the part you missed was unstuck .211 (flashing 211 boot image from unstuck utility). Then you can go into recovery and flash the full .211.

I am stock. 181 rooted... is there any clear advantage to waiting for the OTA update versus using this utility to skip the wait?

Those two files should fail, that's normal.
So you have never been on an ICS leak?
Can you get to stock recovery from bootloader? If so i would wipe data, go into AP Fastboot, and try to fastboot 181 again...
