how do you get the up date out of the zip file

WOW! ok the zip file is the update. I do believe there is a video on how to do this. If you do not know what you are doing I seriously suggest waiting for the OTA and do ing some research while waiting. Not to sound like a D@&K but you could really mess up your phone if you do not know what you are doing

I'm trying to do this, but for some reason it won't let me scroll down in that first menu on the phone. What gives? Power does nothing and when I press volume up, it selects normal start up.

Any ideas? Thanks.

It shows on the screen...

Volume Down is move down. Volume up is select.

You will want to make sure the buttons work on your phone.

Mine hangs at arbitrary points, usually cdt or recovery. System always fails. Any thoughts?

well i couldnt get mine fixed so i just took it to verizon an said that their update messed my phone up and i got a new one lol. I came from jailbreaking iphones to the droid and it seems the jailbreak process is alot easier. could b me but i guess no more messing with phones for me. ill count my blessings on this one! thanks for all the help just sorry i couldnt follow the directions right.

Quick question, downloaded the zip for blur version and extracted it. Where is the file i put on my SD card? Not sure what to do...I get all the other steps, it just seems like I can't find the .zip file anywhere....help please?!?!

Don't extract it. Full zip goes on your sd card

What are you waiting for?? The full zip for .211 is in the op and downloads fine I just checked. Unless I am misunderstanding what you need...

HUGE THANKS to mattlgroff for the utility, it worked perfectly. Not just him though, thanks to everyone who helped him, and everyone here at the forums that answers the same questions over and over, shares their experiences, and answers to technical problems all to help everyone else. Sometimes searching forum after forum for an answer to a question you know has already been asked can be a daunting task.
