OK, Matt, so fbr the time it takes to d/l 1.7, it'll save me tons of OTA install time - sounds awesome!!! I'm guessing that once safestrap is installed, you need to make a backup of initial system & then make nands accordingly. I remember seeing somewhere that there is some sort of gotcha where ss overwrites some important area when one flashes roms &/or patches, themes, or updates. Also, where do apps & data get stored in safe or unsafe partition? BTW, TiBu can extract apps fm nand backups, which I've used w/bootstrap; do you know if safestrapped nands can be restored via TiBu? thanks again,
These are questions for the developers of Safestrap, hashcode
These are all saved on the external SD under "safestrap". I do not support using TiBu as a reliable backup tool either, especially when moving from GB to ICS. I'm sorry if that did not answer the questions.
Ok, I was on stock 181, rooted. I did option 1, no errors. booted into razr recovery, ended up with a android on his back with"!"
As another user stated, press both volume buttons.
Wow, this is an amazing all in one package! Here is where I'm at: I'm on Safestrap with Eclpse on my safe side (.178 version) and totally stock on non-safe side. I've been waiting for an official leak to come out so that I can stay on track and have vanilla rooted version of ICS, seems that we now have it! So, for me, should I:
- Reboot to my non-safe side.
- Uninstall safestrap
- then begin using the utility at step 1
- Then do, 3, 5, 7, and 9 in the utility and that will get me onto ICS 4.0.4?
I just solved your problem in chat but I will repeat it here for others reading it.
Fastbooting with this obliterates safe/non-safe. Restores it to stock 6.12.181 system.img and preinstall.img. Just run Option 1 to restore, and install the update from the SD card in recovery.
