Haha. I had the original droid until my new job bought an iPhone 4 for me and paid the bill thereafter. I just got back on the Maxx a few months ago.

Yup. and in MTD mode. I've tried on several PC's and just can't get adb to see the device. I can browse the SD cards through explorer just fine.

Hey guys I used this utility to update to the new ICS using Option 2 and got all the way through with no errors, but now it has been stuck on Patching boot image... longer , than i expected, and i have quite a bit of patience (30 minutes) I'm not worried about the battery as of now because it was full, but just wondering what i should do. Wait longer or attempt something else?

I've done that as well as remove them and reinstall them and reboot both phone and PC.

Reading some other posts about adb I think I have a possible reason. In my device manager it doesn't show ADB composite device. It shows USB composite device. I'm guessing this is the reason. any idea how to fix this? I've uninstalled and reinstalled Matt's device driver tho so I'm not sure why it's not working.

There have been issues with USB 3.0 ports, could that be your problem.

Hi, the update went good, it's up and running but my home button dosen't work, is anyone else having this problem and if so is there any fixes.

That's really weird and you've tried different ports on the same computer and it obviously has an internet connection (not sure if that matters) using moto USB cable? Sorry this may have been covered just trying to think what I had to do...

Anyone have any experience with the Linux version of the utility?

I select #1 and all I get is "waiting on device"

I'm in fastboot mode and everything is plugged up but nothing happens.

Yup moto cable. The stranger thing is that this worked on my Razr on 2.3.6 when I rooted that just fine. I'm using OTA .211 and not the sideloaded .211 but that shouldn't matter.

Not sure if this matters and its just a thought but have you thought maybe getting the drivers from somewhere else instead of out of the utility? Like motocast or something I seen over at other forum where the guy said he was having the same problem and went and got the drivers somewhere else and he got the computer to see his phone in ap fast boot.

Try plugging into the computer again then select pc mode. It should load/install some drivers. Not sure if it will make a dif

ICS 4.04 doesn't have a pc mode. I have it in media device mode (MTP)

Okay maybe I misunderstood what your trying to do? Do you already have ics installed? Just something else not working?

I was part of the ICS soak test. I got the ICS from Motorola via OTA. Now I'm trying to root it.

Ahhhh. Are you trying to do it in Ap fast boot? I am sorry i thought you were still trying to load in onto your phone..lol To early for me another cup of coffee
