Issue is running it in the wrong place. Extract zip to desktop and run as admin.

Matt-

I unzipped to my desktop and I still get the same thing. This is so frustrating! What am I doing wrong?

It just sits "waiting for device". I'm in debugging and MTP mode.

I've tried it in fastboot and regular. This is an OTA .211 not the sideloaded. Does Moto put some kind of lock on your phone until the soak is done? I've used the 1.6 util on my last razr with no issues. i just don't know why it won't recognize the device. I've tried it on 3 of my PC's and it never finds the device.

So by putting that file on my sd card and selecting option 1, this utility will put the official ICS update on my phone? Or will I have to do something else?

Did you install the drivers on your computer?

Yup.

When in AP Fastboot, do the following words appear: "Transfer Mode:" ?
If so, what does the next line below those words say?

Transfer Mode:
USB connected.

I also downloaded a adb shell program and that can't find my device. So for some reason nothing is seeing the device.

I can browse the phone etc so it appears that it is obviously connecting to the PC but I just can't get adb to see it for some reason.

Def a driver issue of some sort. I assume you ARE using the driver pack that comes with 1.7, correct? If so, I would try this and possibly get a fresh start - Go to the control panel and uninstall anything Moto on your PC. Reboot and re-install the current driver package. This shouldn't all be necessary but, I'm trying to cover all bases with it.

Ok, maybe NOT drivers then! lol Sounded like it at first. Where exactly do you have the Utility unzipped to? Seems to be a different result for everyone here but, I think the most foolproof spot for extraction is on the root of the C drive. And the two folders and bat file shouldn't be in a single folder either. They should be let loose directly on the drive. Just what worked for me.

By The way... THANK YOU, MATT!! for an excellent set of tools for us to use. You sir, are a god among men! :-D

After re-installing the drivers, restart your computer. All of this should be done in admin mode.

This all worked (util 1.6) on my last razr but I had to get a factory replacement and I just can't get it working for some reason.
