Some people have had to try this part 4 times before it goes thru. Just Reboot and try again I had to do it 2 times. Wipe Data second time did the trick...

I tried about 10 times and I am getting an extra error that says:
assert failed: mount ("ext3" . "MTD" . "system" . " /system")

Yeah no one paid me any attention...I emailed Matt however I know he is busy. Atleast I am able to put a charge on it until I find out what is going on. Thanks for trying.Wow. Have you gone into chat and see if someone in there can help?? When I was having issues lastnight those guys were great support! Sorry wasnt trying to come off as a know it all.

I'm on .211 and on debugging. I'm just trying to do option 3 and root and be done but i keep getting this error:

Yeah I can get into fastboot and recovery just can't get it to install any softwareYour able to boot up right?

I can get it to the moto logo and it stays on for about ten seconds and then there is no boot image as if it were loading the osYeah I can get into fastboot and recovery just can't get it to install any software

Nope. Just shows the moto dual core logo for about ten seconds then goes black and does nothing.Will the phone boot back up? Like all the way up to Gingerbread lock screen?

I fastbooted back to .173, did the OTA to .181. Allowed it to settle..
rebooted...settled..
booted back into AP.. used the new 1.7 utility .. picked option 1.. let it do it's thing...
cleared data/cache... installed the update from SD card.. booted.. PROFIT.
(now that I'm committed, I'm gonna check wifi and make sure it's better than .79 or I'm gonna be pissed)

i had a similar problem (message saying gapps stopped during the 1st reboot, home screen frozen), once i got 211 to flash.
i went back into Recovery and did a factory reset.
appears to be working though the launcher seems to be crashing with some regularity while re-downloading all of my apps from the Play Store

Another successfull install. Thanks to Mr. Batman!
As stated:
Copied ICS .211 to ext. SD Card
Updated motorola drivers - included in utility v.17
Option 1 in Utility v 1.7
Reboot into recovery
However- I did a wipe and factory reset
Wipe cache
apply update
Maybe the factory reset and cache wipe were not needed, but easy enough to reinstall a few apps. I decided to go ahead and root using your ICS 4.0.4, installed Voodoo and Safestrap.
I just recently came from a Droid X to the Razr and am learning the new Razr rooting apps and methods. I was on an ICS build for the Droid X and certainly appreciate the Razr Maxx battery life.
I'll be buying Mr. Batman a beer...
