And in the 1.6 utility i did option 1 to fastboot back to .181 (i was already on that but the instruction said to do it anyway) and its been stuck on "writing 'preinstall'.........OKAY[ 7.862s]"

It jhasn't done anything for 5 or 10 min, any help? Getting nervous

quit and start again, when I had to flash back to 181 using 1.6 my computer actually froze while it was pushing files in the 6 years I've had this computer and everything I do with it it's never froze, I restarted it and everything was smooth the second time, I think the utilities only work when they feel like it

Well there are no Fastboot files yet but would I be able to use Matt's 1.7 utility to get unstuck and get things running normal again and still be on the path? Or should I just wait for the Fastboot files?

Matts Utility. But the 211 leak is the same as the OTA. So add long as you're rooted nothing should go wrong.

I am on version 75 (the first ICS leak). You said on twitter that I should go with Option 1 but I am not on Gingerbread, I am on ICS (first one). I wouldn't use Option 2 instead? Just want to make sure before I start flashin.

I used Option 1, wiped data/cache and then installed 211. Worked like a charm. Thanks Matt!

anyone else getting a purple notification light when ever the screen is off. Rebooting clears it temporarily, but it just comes back. And does not blink if the screen is on.

Hey gang, I'm new here, but not new to rooting. Just went from a rooted Droid 2 to a Razr Maxx, and I used Matt's Utility v1.6 to root the new Razr Maxx, and it worked flawlessly. I run no ROMs at all, never have.

I have read this entire thread, I like to make sure before I jump into something. I just have a few questions "to be sure" ... while I am downloading.

Before running the utility to go to ICS, do I need to defrost all the bloatware I have frozen in Titanium Backup?

Do I need to unroot before running this version?

In the screenshot in the OP, it says "Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4" and "4.0.3" ... which one does this utility install?

Utility worked flawlessly to prep my GB system for ICS. Just sideloaded 211 successfully, now to root & install safestrap. Then I think I'll check out Eclipse. Thanks Matt!

Hey Matt... the real and official OTA to .211 failed and bricked my razr maxx on the Motorola Dual-Core screen. Since I could still access my fast boot I was able to use your utility and downloads to not only unbrick my phone, but I am even enjoying Official .211 ICS... Verizon refused to replace the phone because they insist I modded or rooted the phone. My phone was bone stock and never rooted since I was waiting for OTA ICS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING MY rear end AND FIXING VERIZON'S MISTAKE. I fired off a few bucks to your paypal to show my appriciation for the progress here as well as helping to solve other issues.

If anyone else is interested, the OTA notication came in and all looked ok - after it was done with the Upgrading spinning circle and reboot it just never came back. Hold Power and volume down to reset the phone and then immediately switch to holding volume up and down when the screen blanks. From here you can get to fast boot. Just follow Matt's procedure. Do option 1, clear data and cache, then flash zip from SD like nothing wrong ever happened. I did have to remove the SD card and copy the .zip with my PC.

to update to ICS.
And I dont know whats wrong, im stuck at the moto logo on startup so I dont know if im bricked. but i can boot into recovery and go into ap fastboot mode but when i try to use option 2 on your utility it doesnt do anything, it just says "the system cannot find the path specified" and yes it is plugged in, the phone is unrooted and before i did this i factory reset my phone and cleared my cache. Please help!

No you can't. You only Dartmoor to truck your phone top thinking that you're on 181 if you're going to 211. That's using the unstuck method

OK so now i'm lost.

My wife is on 209. This procedure work for me?
1. Turn off your phone
2. Boot it up by holding Vol -, Vol +, and Pwr at the same time.
3. Select AP Fastboot by scrolling down with Vol - and selecting it with Vol +
4. If your phone is not connected to your computer, connect it now
5. Run Matts Utility
6. on ICS, select option 2.
7. Follow directions
8. Disconnect your phone once it tells you to boot into Motorola Recovery
9. Hold down power button to turn off phone
10. Boot it up by holding Vol -, Vol +, and Pwr at the same time.
11. Select RECOVERY by scrolling down with Vol - and selecting it with Vol +
12. You'll see lil Android Guy. Hit Vol + and Vol -
13. Scroll down to Wipe Data/Factory Reset by using Vol - and selecting with Power buttons
14. Scroll down and say "Yes"
15. After it is done, select "Install from External storage"
16. Select the "Blur_Version.6.12.181.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip" file
17. Jerk your gerkin
18. Select Reboot phone when it is done installing.

Thanks in advance. I've had all 3 Nexus phones and I'll probably never go back, Nexus stuff is so much simpler! lol
