I am still relatively new to rooting and roms so I am not entirely sure how to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.4. Do i have to wipe data and flash 1.4 as a fresh install or can I upgrade on top of 1.2 and keep my data/apps.

I usually don't wipe and try it out but if it starts messing up then i go back and do a full wipe and reinstallAlso titanium backup is your friend

So correct me if im wrong:

1. download 1.4 zip and put on sim card.
2. backup any apps I want to restore if $#!7 goes down using titanium backup
3. restart phone and boot into safestrap
4. backup system
5. dont wipe data and just flash rom from .zip and install 1.4
6. If it fails, reboot into safestrap and wipe data/perform clean install of 1.4 or just restore my working 1.2 system.
7. profit?

Confirmed gallery editing does not work. Photosphere doesn't actually appear to work either.

If you don't want to use the 4.2 camera you can download Camera ICS+

So correct me if im wrong:

Here are my steps.
1. Download and put on external SD
2. Backup with titanium
3.safe strap backup
4. Install new zip
5. Reboot
6. Test everything
7.if broken safe strap wipe everything install zip reboot
8. Restore with titanium

I've chosen this as the first ROM to flash on my RAZR MAXX. I installed SafeStrap 3.05 yesterday and have downloaded this ROM from the primary and mirror links for a total of 3 attempts. Even though the MD5 matches I get:
"
E:Unable to open zip file.
Error flashing zip 'sdcard/Razr-EclipseICS-v1.4.zip
"
every time I try to install to ROM-Slot-1. I've tried installing from the root of both /sdcard/ and /sdcard-ext/ and get the same error. I suppose this could be a bug in this new release of Safestrap, but I figured I'd see if anyone else here had a similar problem. Maybe I'll try another ROM this weekend when I can download over wifi from home.

Is anyone else having trouble opening the zip file?

Every time I've run into that flashing issue, it's been because my download had an issue.

I must be missing something, but I can't find the new camera. When I open the zip file, I don't see the apk for it either? Maybe I'm just really tired.

I found it, I accidentally froze the gallery app which, in turn, removed the camera as well.

I'm running 1.4 but I cannot find the option to change where to store the pics taken (sdcard and ext-sdcard) any ideas?

Hey Great Rom this 1.4 no prblems as of yet and it does have swype it seems to be the default keyboard and its awesome someone should have come up with that along time ago.thumbs up

It's Google's version of Swype, new in 4.2. They executed the idea much better than Swype in terms of word prediction.
